How many WRs are coming in as transfers?
I don't follow football recruiting much but I think I've only see Hawes so far from Arkansas State.
SIU loses Lenoir and Hartrup now. Guessing SIU is going to have to bring in a few more. I have no idea what kind of depth we have under Cox now.
Hartrup? What the hell? I had high hopes for him after this season. Dammit.

We have Avante Cox, Arkansas State transfer Hawes, D'Ante Cox hopefully coming back from a 2nd knee injury, and a bunch of redshirts. Hawes didn't play much for Cincinnati or Arkansas State but hopefully his production increases with the switch to FCS. D'Ante Cox has had multiple knee injuries, but he has the same dna as Avante, (they are twins) so I have hope. Of the redshirts Zach Gibson may have the most promise. Tyce Daniel should be coming back at TE and he is a threat in the passing game.
Losing Hartrup hurts a lot. He has obvious FBS-level talent though so I guess it shouldn't be that shocking

Yeah Hartrup was the clear future of that WR room...this one really hurts. Some big boys must have gotten in his ear, but I think anyone could see after this season that he had Power 5 FBS talent.
We lose Lenior, Hartrup, and Rollins...we've got a clear #1 in Avonte, but behind him there is a lot of unknown. D'Ante got hurt pretty early, so it's hard to know what he'll be able to provide and looks to be injury prone (knock on wood that's behind him now). Gibson had some nice catches, but didn't play a whole lot so it's hard to know exactly what we have there. Beyond that, we've got a lot of young WRs (5 FR/SO) on the roster that I admittedly don't know a ton about and one transfer. That definitely doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. Daniels should improve, but we run a lot 11 personnel so we need 3 solid WRs and some depth behind that obviously.
I'm sure Hill is actively looking for at least another transfer. Hopefully one of these young guys can step up and be the next Hartrup.

Seems like he's looking to go FBS. He's following some coaches from Miami, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, San Diego State, etc

I think Combs can help at WR. Kid didn’t have many catches as a WR but they all seemed to be critical 3rd down situations or the game winner in the tournament. Sometimes coaches get lost in WRs being burners instead of good route runners with good hands. LB room is pretty full again after getting some portal kids.
That hurts - I thought Hartrup was outstanding. Jerron Collins who was very good for us is gone. I thought Gibson showed a lot of potential and we have a bunch of WRs waiting in the wings.

Nevermind...just saw Bush and Belizaire. All three likely would have played a prominent role on next year's team.
