Kyan Evans 6'2 PG Staley, MO. #1 ranked PG in Missouri (Prephoops). We had already offered his teammate Kayden Fish 6'7 F
The Saluki coaching staff appears to be watching Evans quite closely during AAU action this month. Looks like he has offers so far from Colorado State, Indiana State, Valpo and a few others.

Mr Gerrits is as close to Bryan Mullins as a tenacious defensive player I have seen since Coach Mullins wore a jersey at SIU.
This player would fit right in at "Floorburn U". As a plus he has a nice shooting stroke!

Kyan Evans, Kayden Fish and Kennard Davis all play for MOKAN EYBL (NIKE ELITE YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE). MOKAN is playing for the Peach Jam championship today. Peach Jam is one of the premier basketball tournaments of the summer. We have offered all three players. Evans and Fish both play for Staley HS, KC. Davis plays for Vashon HS, St. Louis (winners of 13 state championships).

As has already been mentioned, I absolutely love the fact that this staff is recruiting outside the "midwestern belt". I think this is going to become even more prevalent after the team starts winning, as I predict they will do this year.

We could use a commitment or two!
We could use a commitment or two!
Guessing they do get a commit or two but wonder how the status of the Seniors impacts their HS recruiting this year. Domask, Jones, Brown, Muila could all potentially be staying another year and using a scholarship. Also the transfer portal matters more than ever.

Imagine having that offer list and putting Evansville in your final 4. That's got to be a play to the home-state team.

Muila's eligibility is done after this year and with Newton being a 5th years senior SIU will have at least 2 open rides next year. Of course that could change, hopefully Domask and Jones will return for a 5th year. SIU didn't get their first 22 commit until mid October last year, so I wouldn't look for any news anytime soon.

Are we sure Muila’s done after this year? I mean I don’t know if he’d be back anyways but I think he’d have one extra year if he wanted it. His first season at SIU had to get him a medical redshirt and then there’s the COVID year.
I’m going to be so thrilled when the extra COVID year is gone, so confusing.
