It would be amazing to get either Evans or Humphries, or both!
Completely open-minded about Humphries, but based on the other programs who have offered, "amazing" might be somewhat of a stretch, unless he's just been overlooked. Almost all of his other reported offers are from lesser conferences than the MVC, George Mason being the exception.
@siudawgs Humphries is a state champion who has offers from Furman, George Mason, New Orleans, and SIU. He is a 6-4 or 6-5 wing that when watched on video, has a very smooth 3 point shot, but can score going to the basket as well. I think he would be a great player for the Salukis.
Has there been any visits this summer for any 2023 recruits?
Evans just announced he is going to Colorado State.

Humphries announces in 20 minutes, think SIU has a better shot for him.
I don't know how great of a shot we have at him but I know he was visiting soon and we like to get commits soon after visits.
@salukiworld I hope you are right!
I don't have inside info here so it's very possible he goes somewhere else. Hopefully people aren't disappointed if he goes elsewhere.
@salukiworld Humphries just went to Furman!
Yep

The high school players seem to be committing early to get on board before the teams look to the portal later in the year. Next on my wish list is Parker Gerrits.

We are 0-5 on offers for 2023. Still need a legit point guard. Would love to get Kennard Davis from Vashon HS, St. Louis. He is a junk yard dog on the court. A winner.

Had any of the 5 been on an official visit this summer? What about Davis? Bryan is very methodical in his recruiting he wants to make sure the recruit is a fit here, I don't think he will take a kid UNLESS he has visited. So that is why I would like to know who has been on an official visit this summer.

Given how prominent the transfer portal is, it's not the end of the world to miss out on high school guys. I don't think we've missed out on anything that really upsets me like last year so far. Although given how Mullins' has built the program so far, you'd really feel good about hitting on 1 or 2 guys.

For a program like Southern, with strong prep and AAU connections on the coaching staff, you’d like to see a nice blend of high school kids and transfers as opposed to being overly reliant on the portal (which will probably become increasingly NIL-influenced).
Two years ago, they signed a strong fall prep class of D’Amico, Ebube and Wonders (granted, those guys still have to prove themselves). Hoping that type of class is more of the norm than an exception.
