Looking like Wes Rubin, who de-committed from Loyola, might be headed to UNI based on some buzz from their fans
Slow recruiting does not bother me much. I think we expect Domask and Jones back, they won't want to add a freshman to that team, they will want to add a big time transfer. At that point you would be thinking NCAA tournament or bust and even thinking about advancing a round or two... Then the recruiting takes off and we never look back.

Still think it would be great to land one HS recruit, hoping for Kennard Davis Jr from St. Louis but it'll be tough competition to get him.

If they don’t want to add a freshman, then why have they offered many dating back many months and continuing this fall? Just review this thread.
I get your general point but I don’t buy that they didn’t want several of these kids they’ve offered.
Richard Barron committed to George Mason earlier today.

As far as I know, we have three offers on the table. Davis who I would love for us to get; 6'6 SF athletic, versatile, plays great D, comes from a winning pedigree; Vashon HS in St. Louis has won 13 state championships. I'm writing off Cameron Carr, too many power five schools interested. Tristan Gross 6'5 PG from Florida: another long shot. Recently visited Dartmouth. If we have fifth year seniors coming back, then I also agree, adding freshman doesn't become so critical. If the last couple of years are any indication, there will be almost 2000 transfers in the portal by next spring.

I'm not saying they don't want to add a freshman, but if those guys come back you are looking for an impact freshman, very selective, or an impact transfer. Impact transfers are much easier to find. Also, they have to recruit freshman too, what if Jones and Domask do leave?
UNI is loading up on highly rated recruits. I don't get the appeal of that program or playing for Jacobson, but whatever.
No matter how many stars the recruits are they still have to produce I distinctly remember Lowry having big time recruits and how did that work out

Ben Jacobson isn't Lowrey

If we are being selective I still think Davis would be a great pick up for SIU. He is from St Louis which is a critical recruiting area for SIU and we would be beating out Bradley among others which would certainly make some of us really happy 😃
@mdogs1 I just saw on Instagram that Kennard Davis committed to SIU! Great news.

This is a huge get. He'd be our 4th best recruit by 247 behind Booker, Dillard, and Hornecker.

Also, fills what SIU has been sorely lacking in recent years. A long athletic wing. If Ferguson develops we could be getting much more athletic in the near future!
