Muila isn't murky. He doesn't have any eligibility after this season.Newton definitely doesn't... the JD situation is murky due to injuries along with COVID@resaluki-88 But Mulia and Newton have one more year to play if they want don't they?
I see what you're doing here. Yes, I take the bait quite easily, lol...@resaluki-88 But Mulia and Newton have one more year to play if they want don't they?
@resaluki-88 sorry-couldn’t help myself
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
@resaluki-88 But Muila has one more year, right.

Booker and Dillard both left for "greener pastures" so I am not impressed. Cade seems like he is fitting in. Shoulda reshirted but that is water over the dam. Hopefully starts seeing some floor time towards the end of the season when the dust has all settled a little bit. Excited about Kennard Davis. Could he be the next Domask or Jones?
Typically the bench gets shorter at the end of the year, not longer. I would like to see him get some time, but it's not likely.Cade seems like he is fitting in. Cade hasn’t shown me enough, even in garbage time, to demand playing time right now. Not too worried about him yet though, it takes bigs like Cade longer than a Freshman guard to really start showing production. Ebube though should not be getting DNP’s right now.

I've seen you mention this before, but I was referencing having seen it somewhere other than a post on this board ... or so I thought. After looking though, I can't find any info anywhere.
I'm going to stick with my gut that he's out of eligibility as you say until I see him in a Saluki uni next season.

I was watching the Florida Atlantic vs Midd Tenn game and the announcers were talking about their interview with the Coach of FAU. They are 20-1 and have a 19 game winning streak. Anyway, the Coach was saying that recruits that were not yet sold on the program last year are now APPROACHING THEM due to their success this year. I've mentioned it a couple of times this season (and pre-season). Winning is so incredibly important because it brings attention to the program as well as a desire to want to play here. Coach Mullins obviously present himself well anywhere he goes, including on the recruiting trail, and when you add that to a proven winning team and the expectations of winning more in the near future, it will entice better recruits to sign on the dotted line.

Here is all you need to see. COVID adjustment gave 6 years to play 4 with COVID year not counting toward the 4. He's played 4 with the COVID year not counting (even though he sat out that year with an injury). I've not read anywhere where the non-counting COVID year can be regained as a year of eligibility like other years (e.g. an injury hardship waiver), which would mean Muila is done after this year.

If Muila got a medical redshirt for that year he missed, I don’t get why he wouldn’t be eligible for the COVID year. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen other players around college basketball get multiple extra years due to medical redshirts and the COVID year.

The key phrasing is 6 years to play 4...the COVID year was not given as an additional year of eligibility so there is nothing to be gained back due to injury (I would expect the wording would be 6 years to play 5 for an additional eligibility year). That year was just made not to count toward the 4 years of eligibility, so those that played that year essentially got 6 to play 5.
This is correct. If he had played in 20/21, he would have been able to play 5 years, including 20/21, with this being his 5th year. As the link shows this is his 2nd senior year.If Muila got a medical redshirt for that year he missed, I don’t get why he wouldn’t be eligible for the COVID year. On a side note, Dalton Banks should be the last player to get an extra year. He played as a true freshman during the covid affected 20/21 year. He should have 2 more years of eligibility if he chooses to use his extra year.

Yes, that. That is essentially what I read. I wish I could find my source but its probably been at least a year ago or longer. Just lost in the ether somewhere I suppose.

Side note; I hope Rupert, Cade and Ebube are ready because the young fellas will have the keys to the paint next year.
If they develop to their potential, they'll be the best post trio in the Valley and could eventually be one of the better front-courts in the nation. Yes, I said it. Between the 3 of them they have all the facets covered; size, quickness, athleticism, defense, rebounding, shot blocking and range out to the 3pt line.
I'm really excited for what these kids can do together.
