@bleedfknmaroon25 I am afraid they will lack one facet: playing time. This coaching staff does an excellent job in many areas but they do not value post play.

Yea, I don't understand why they haven't experimented with one of these combinations inside, at least for short periods, with Hornecker/Rupert, Hornecker/Muila, Ebube/Rupert or Ebube/Muila.
I sure hope Muila and Newton come back next year. 😉

I'm hoping that they improve enough collectively that Mullins will have no choice but to play them in bunches, sometimes together, and is forced to adjust his game-planning accordingly. There will be no upperclassmen roadblocks to playing time barring a surprise transfer portal addition (likely low priority at their position).

Exactly, if a player left absolutely nothing to question in practices, scrimmages, etc. they WOULD play more.

Practice is good of course, but any coach should know that isn't the final word. Some guys just play better in real games, some guys who are good in practice aren't as good real time. Some guys are better off the bench, some are better starting. And it depends on your opponent - their size, their strengths, their weaknesses. When you practice, you are playing against your teammates, whose profile may be and probably is completely different than your opponent.
One thing I know - coming in for very brief periods of time is not a good way to get in the game flow.
@mr_woogers when and where did you coach?

As a coach... Trust is earned in practice. If you stink in practice there is little chance I am putting you in a game.Exactly, if a player left absolutely nothing to question in practices, scrimmages, etc. they WOULD play more.

There degrees of "stink". LOL
Can't imagine why a guy that really stinks in practice would remain on the roster of any legitimate D1 team. (but I can sure think of a few Lowery/Barbecue players that stunk in the game)
