Davis and Vashon resume their journey to the state championship tomorrow with their first tough matchup in facing Father Tolton Regional Catholic. The game looks to be at 2pm. If anyone knows if/where the game may be streamed, please let us know.
Looks like you can stream it through the Missouri High School Association web site. I couldn't find anything definite but it might cost $10.99/month.
Great Lakes (strong DII league) player of the year Rasheed Bello is in the portal and could be a guy to watch for Southern. He went to DePaul Prep, a program the Mullins clan has strong ties to, for high school. He's a small but dynamic guard and apparently a very talented two-way player. I think he has two years left.

Can we stop recruiting D2 players, please? Verplancken was mediocre at best, D'Avanzo was completely overmatched at the D1 level, Ferguson couldn't even see the court on a team that struggled with both size and scoring from the 2/3 spots.
Generally players that are at D2 schools are there because they are D2 level players.

Basically agree unless it's a Courvoisier McCauley.
I think Spike is wrong about JUCO players but 100% right about D2 players. I feel like D2 players rarely contribute outside of the rare example and if they do, it usually takes them about a year to adjust to D1 (see Verplancken). JUCO guys can come in right away though and are playing close to D1 competition at that level.

Heres another Illinois Wolves connection
Kennedy is probably looking at a power 5 roster spot, but it would not surprise me to see him at SIU. Pretty sure he was one of Bryan's last class of recruits at Loyola.
@insaluki He didn't get any meaningful playing time and Honecker clearly needs minutes and development. He could be an outstanding player for SIU in a couple of years.
He could indeed !! I stand by my premise, however, that if he were the best player on the court during drills, scrimmages, practices, etc he would have played. I also firmly believe that the coaching staff knows well more than us, about their own players abilities. Cade is one of my favorite players though and I hope he kills it this offseason and makes it impossible for the staff to sit him.
I'd be pretty stunned if Kennedy didn't end up at SIU if those are the schools with the Mullins connection. I think he's a good player, especially on the defensive end, but I'm not sure he helps their scoring much. They'd have to add a few other scorers.

I think if he's open to leaving Chicago (concerned about DePaul getting involved and UIC to an extent) and wants a large role in his last year, Southern stands a good chance. He'd help at both ends, if he can stay healthy, which has been an issue for him.

He shot decent from 3 this year but the 2 prior years he shot 24% & 25% respectively. He's not a particularly good FT shooter for a guard either. He also seemed to lose his starting role in January and played, and scored, less as the year went on. I think there are MUCH better players out there and players that can add to our main weakness, which is lack of scoring and shooting well.
