Paul Lambert recruited that area heavily back in the day.
Marietta and Atlanta are pretty much one and the same now.

Same. Plus the higher scoring averages are all D2 or NAIA. How that translates to our level is always a question mark.

Of the 20 portal targets we know about, I have 5 that are below D1 and none are JUCO’s. I do like the 2 high school targets.

BM legancy will be determined by his ability to recruit quality players. Something the staff has struggled with since day one. Rich Herrin got four players that got us to the NCAA tournament…Timmons, Carr, Amaya, Lusk. Webber got four players…Dearmon, Williams ,Brooks, Harrison. Lowery added Shaw, Mullins, Young. My point is BM has added only one player(MD) of the above caliper in 4 years.

There is a lot of truth to this. We can and do post all year about every nuance and detail about the program, but Mullins’ tenure will mostly come down to bringing in more impact guys who can score. And with the Domask era over, that urgency ramps up.
A collection of solid, defensive-minded role players doesn’t get you to a conference championship or postseason play.
That kind of suck's. I think he would've been a good get.Cross off Rasheed Bello

I wonder if there’s a chance Southern could get back in the mix for Garrison Phelps (who visited and whose mom seemed to like the coaches quite a bit) now that his coach at Utah State left for VCU. Might be a stretch, but with several scholarships to fill and talent badly needed, I’m sure the coaches are attacking the spring period from all angles.
