We offered a few weeks ago.  Not sure if he visited.  He visited Corpus Christi recently

Hard to think he would decide without visiting.

SIU in on 2 Big Ten transfers?

saw something from a random twitter dude saying as much around 4:30 this afternoon.

orrrrrrrrrrrrr and hear me out here. Maybe they beat two Big ten teams for a recruit?

Probably nothing, but is anyone hearing those types of rumors?

No, and no one legitimately believes this staff beat out two B1G teams for a recruit.

You are pretty bold saying that, basically calling barkeep a liar. Not sure he has been wrong on much on here over the years.

Barkeep didn't say it was happening (only speculating about rumors), so I wasn't calling him a liar. I'll be thrilled to admit I'm wrong.

I'm sort of skeptical of any good news recruiting-wise right now, given that this staff has had 3 scholarships available for 2 months now and 2 additional ones for one month, and still hasn't signed a single player, and arguably their best recruiting assistant coach bailed for a lower-level school.

Not to be that guy but there a lot of programs with a lot of openings and I understand patience is not very welcome on this board but I believe good things will happen Howard has only been on the job 3 weeks so let's see what shakes out if numerous openings on the roster are there in 2 weeks then we have a problem

I don’t think going into mid-May without one commitment was the plan.  It’s pretty obvious Kennedy and Smith were top targets and they got neither.  They can still salvage it but I’m not expecting it at this point unless they pull off another out of left field move like hiring Howard.  Even then, this team probably needs more than 1 good addition.

Sure, it's early for Howard, but what does it tell you if this staff has to rely on a new hire to start pulling in recruits?

Too many people making too many assumptions! Let’s wait and see. But, lol, I’m going to make an assumption now. We might have passed on Langston if he’s gonna vist Ft Wayne. That makes no sense otherwise.

I’m not letting the SIU Boo Birds’ negative energy on Twitter and Saluki Insider kill my good vibes.

Until we are inking Rend Lake players, I’m confident in our staff to get us some dudes.
