The Southern is running an article about the lack of John A. Logan recruiting:
I watched that JC championship game and was not impressed with either team or the quality of play. I actually expected the play to be much higher quality. Sloppy. The best player on each team looked like a decent D1 possibility, especially the big kid on the runner up team.
I don't imagine we would take Sharp and T'John Brown both after signing Miller as well...might be first one to commit (I think Brown said he was committing on Sunday).

I don't know if Brown ever visited. He posted about his Corpus Christi visit. I'd say that's his likely destination.

I would say that is likely as well. I can't imagine they have more than 3 PGs on the roster.
Three scholarships left, and so far nobody you can confidently predict will be able to average 14-15 ppg at the MVC level. Also very questionable who would be considered Southern’s top scoring option or two going into the year. I get the concept of balanced scoring, but it’s rare to win at a high level without at least some star power.
Not sure if it’s realistic they could still add a more proven scorer or two but that’s probably needed to avoid being picked pretty low going into the season. Another PG would also be helpful.
We have 2 scholarship PG's in Johnson and Miller. I imagine we will also see Miller at the 2, but with those 2 we should be good. Also, don't sleep on JR Jacobs. He is a PG and they redshirted him for a reason. We need 2 SG and someone else who can play the 3.Three scholarships left, and so far nobody you can confidently predict will be able to average 14-15 ppg at the MVC level. I’m not totally clear on if Miller is more of a point or a scoring guard.

Kids improve year to year, but I don't know that he shoots the ball well enough from deep to play the 2 (trust me, I realize the irony in saying that when Jones was playing the 2 last year...no one thought he would shoot the ball that poorly from outside). I think he can play there occasionally, but not as the starting 2 guard. Honestly, looking at our roster I don't know if we have our starting 2 guard...I guess I would slot Brown in there for now or if they want to play big maybe Ferguson (could you imagine a 6'6" 2 guard?!?).
Personally, I think that is where the focus needs to be for at least 2 of the last 3 scholarships. Desperately need some kids who can knock down the 3.

We'll see how it plays out, but with Johnson back as a fifth-year guy, it'll be harder for Miller to see major minutes if he's mostly playing PG. I still think he may play more 2 based off that unless they somehow bring in guards late who can shoot/score at a high level.

He's got to be XJ's backup, like Banks was last year. Doesn't shoot the three better than Jones and doubt he can drive it and score like Jones, who was so quick and physical on those impressive drives. Shoots a very flat shot - hope he's working on that.
Just a real shame that Wonders left, because I think he would have played a lot and given us some outside shooting. Would be great to a have a really good outside shooter like a Doug Novsek or Shane Hawkins or Kai Nurnberger. Probably have to get a HS recruit at this point.
