Well that was quick

Yeah looks like that was the team he was waiting on…congrats to him, on to the next.

Other point guard options:

Desmond White 6’2 Jefferson City, MO #2 rated player in Missouri Offered

Luther Smith 6’1 CG Sussex Hamilton, WI #6 rated player in Wisconsin

Brandon Rechsteiner 6’1 Woodstock, GA #12 rated player in Georgia

Dallas Roberts 6’1 Goshen, KY #13 rated player in Kentucky

Keishawn Hampton 6’1 Norcross, GA

Isaiah Kai 6’2 Gilbert, AZ #3 rated PG in Arizona

Ibrahim El-Amin 5’11 Burnsville, MN #12 rated player in Minnesota

I feel like Dallas Roberts is a likely option if he stays at the mid-major level.  Don’t think his tape looked as impressive as a Brock Harding but think he’d be a good get for SIU.

Well that was quick

I'm not normally "that" guy, but Iowa is on a downswing and SIU is on an upswing with next year being THE YEAR where magic could happen.  Still though, best of luck to Brock.

He's also going to play for one of the coaches with the most dour personalities in the country in McCaffery. The guy can be quite a jerk.

At least Harding and the Rubin brothers both committed pretty early in the cycle so the coaches don't sink too much time into them.

Not upset at all at losing guys to Loyola and Iowa too.  I’d be really salty if they ended up at Valley schools.  Was scared Drake might get in on Harding and grab him.

I get your point, but when you consider where the Loyola program was like 6-8 years ago, and the difference between the programs over most of the past several decades, just conceding that Loyola can now beat SIU for recruits left and right is rather depressing.

Yeah, Loyola is an established mid-major power now and in a league that can get players a bit more attention than the MVC given the bigger markets.

I was upset at losing Quinn to them because I feel like we should be hitting on more Wolves guys but the truth is, winning will help out with this and SIU hasn’t done that in 15 years now.  Hopefully that changes this year.

@salukis60 I have liked what I have seen of Dallas Roberts.

Agree - head seems to be always up when first going down the court, surveying the court for teammates and defenders.  He is 'quick', can pass really well and seems to be able to hit shots to keep defenders honest.  It would be nice to secure him before (if) he blows up next season.

6'2 CG Neenah, WI #4 rated player. Tore his ACL, missed his entire junior season.

Kyan Evans 6'2 PG Staley, MO. #1 ranked PG in Missouri (Prephoops). We had already offered his teammate Kayden Fish 6'7 F

@insaluki unfortunately siu basketball is not on the upswing. Maybe In football.. Mullins first year was his best year so far. Hasn’t been over .500 since I’m conference and the mvc has changed in our favor as all the good  teams are leaving. Only 3 years in.. hopefully next year is the year.

@jakesiu552 gotta know what you're (sp) talking about  to speak it.

The team that won the MVC last year is not leaving. Neither are two of the 2nd place teams.

Murray State and Belmont are going to be tougher opponents than people expect.

Agree. I'm not a bit bothered by Loyola leaving. As long as we have a Chicago presence in UIC and two traditionally strong OVC teams, the MVC will be fine - a better league than it was with Loyola actually. UIC will improve I expect and will also help baseball - great stadium.)

I personally see the 2 ovc teams not finishing in the top 4 to much turnover not to mention there are no pushovers in the mvc like some of bottom feeders in the ovc even good teams lose on the road in the mvc
