@beadmedaddio Do you have a link referring to the announcement? I just spent a minute searching for one and couldn’t find any mention of it.
Edit: Nevermind! I found it on twitter. Looks like he announced a couple days ago.

This is the TYPE of recruit many FCS programs will now have trouble hanging on to for 4-5 years.
I am not speaking of this recruit. I don't know him and I know nothing about him or his recruitment other than the published list of schools that recruited him. Included in this list are schools from the SEC, ACC, MAC and the BIG10. Impressive.
I spoke to a friend last weekend whose grandson is currently a 3star recruit. He wants to play for a FBS program and more specifically a SEC school. This SEC school gets many 3, 4, and some 5star recruits. This school told him to think about going to a lower level FBS or even an upper level FCS school if they can't offer him a scholarship this next year. He can get playing time immediately. They told him it would be better to get this experience instead of playing on the scout team for multiple years. With the transfer portal a player no longer has to sit out a year for their first transfer. No penalty to start at one school and transfer.
I get it. I would rather have all my players getting game experience. Having said this, this strategy does have some peril. It is a bit risky to have your recruits on other rosters.
Once again, I will always argue, the transfer portal is not good for college football.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
@beadmedaddio The transfer portal is absolutely horrible. Never should have touched the old rules. The NIL will ultimately cause yet another divide in D1 athletics creating more elitest B.S.. College athletics will eventually create it’s own demise in ratings.
