Baylor wins 13 - 9 in extra innings. Had a chance to win it in the 8th but couldn't get that clutch hit with a runner at 2nd. Great effort by this team to come back from 7 down against the 18th ranked team in the country and the only team to beat #1 Oklahoma this year.
One thing for sure, Sewell needs to have more than two starters on the team. Baylor has six pitchers, four or five of which pitched this year. Over the years, SIU has usually had just two starters - that really bites you in the ass when you have a season-ending injury, which happened this year. Amazing Madi Eberle hasn't had an arm injury with all the innings she had to pitch. Time to recruit some more pitchers.
This team is young. Could be really good next year with more good starting pitching.
Great season!
Have to admire the grit and never quit attitude of this team especially being short handed in the pitching department Madi carried the load for half a season with the injuries she may need to rest her arm until next season just to recover

Agree - I was so impressed with that team. MVC better watch out next year. We're an Amy Harre or Cassidy Scroggins away from winning an NCAA regional.

This team can very very good this Spring. Returning 6 All-Con players from the MVC Tourney champs! New freshman pitcher from Omaha, Madda Groff, was lights out this Fall. "Madda finished the fall season with 23 innings pitched, allowing just three hits while striking out 50 batters on her way to a 0.00 ERA." Her sister is a catcher for the Dawgs. Great recruiting to get these two.
Did not see any mention of Elliott Stinson, who missed end of the season with an injury after a dominating start as a freshman. Anybody know if she's still rehabbing an injury?
With Eberle, Groff, Hockerman, and hopefully Stinson, this could be our best pitching staff in years.
Love it! Seems like Coach Sewell hasn’t missed a beat since Coach Blaylock retired.
