Sounds like the offense got owned by the D at the scrimmage today. There were a few people out on offense (2 linemen, Cox, J. Williams, Hartrup, J. Strong), but 0 points and 0 big plays doesn't show well.

Don't know if I should feel good about the D or worried about the offense...maybe a bit of both.

I’d say huge concerns for offense. The D has completely dominated the O all camp. No way the coaches can like where the O is. We are 3 weeks from a big game in San Antonio. Zero points and several possessions were started in the red zone. The QBs had some awful pics in the red zone. QB room better pick up the pace and the Oline better figure it out or it’s going to be a long season.

For defense, interested in Michigan State LB transfer Sam Edwards.  A redshirt Sophomore that was first team all starter in 2019 in high school and set the state record for tackles with 225.

Defense is always ahead of the offense early I personally wouldn't worry until a week before the season starts then I would get concerned especially with key people sitting out

I agree 100% on D should be ahead of the O but not this far ahead. It’s been a complete domination all camp.

Yeah it seems like the D has really been having their way. I’ll give it another week before I start to panic too much, but if it is like this with their next scrimmage, I will start worrying. We have a tough schedule this year, so we don’t have the luxury of a game or two to find our footing.

Maybe it means we've got a great D this year! That would be awesome!

We very well may have a great defense, but we will be playing some great D’s this year too. 70 play scrimmage and 0 points even against a good D should not happen, especially when some of the scenarios have the offense in red zone situations. It doesn’t give me a warm and fuzzy, but like I said I’m willing to give them another week or so before I panic too much.

Hope our D is not fools gold. 70 plays. Several started with great field position.
Getting the feeling a 4th place finish in league may be a reach. Hill looked a little pissed about the O in interview.

No worries! Wouldn't expect too much of the O with NO Cox, Hartrup, JWill, Branyan, or Greene. Those guys make a huge difference.

I’m not going to lie. I’m a little worried. Regardless of the weapons, if you can’t win the line of scrimmage, it won’t matter. The DL and LBs are manhandling the O upfront.  You can have NFL WRs and it won’t matter if our QBs can’t get comfortable.  JMO.  Makes it even harder if a QB is undersized like ours.

2 starting O linemen didn't play. That wouldn't make a difference at The Ohio St. but it would make a difference at The SIU. Without seeing the scrimmage, it's hard to make any serious judgement IMO.

Sounds like the defense is having some great battles for 1’s and 2’s. That’s great news having depth. Hopefully the offense will get it going soon. Season is fast approaching and they are having problems with our D.  QB battle for #2 has been primarily between Zabrowski and Simmons with Norton getting a few reps.
