Does anyone else hate that they don't use that fancy font that was invented to go along with the rebrand that they spent so much money on?

A good article on new transfer WR Brad Clark:  https://prairiestatepigskin.com/2024/05/23/experienced-clark-driven-by-new-address-new-relationships-at-southern-illinois/

@salukiworld

My Iowa State buddy went out to to Provo this past fall for the Cyclones game  with BYU.  He had a great experience and loved everything about the trip.  They even had fans come up and thank them for coming to the game.  He said he had never had that happen before at another teams stadium.

I think this would give Noah Fenske another year of eligibility if he wants it (they denied his waiver last year).

So DJ Williams should be the starting QB this season

A bit surprising, but I guess the shoulder issues are still there. Sucks he never got fully healthy to compete for the job. While I agree that Williams is the likely starter at this point, I still think HIll will give Simmons a shot in fall camp. Simmon's couldn't have got injured at a worse time.

This also puts us in a bit of a precarious situation at QB. Assuming Simmons gets healthy by fall camp, we've got two freshmen behind he and Williams and that's it. I wonder if Hill is looking at the portal right now to bring in another depth piece. Seems like quality would be hard to find this late, but who knows.

Williams has looked way ahead anyway. He's the clear choice at starting QB.

Glad Lindauer is sticking around at least. Been in the system for a while now. Will be a big help for Williams

For those who have the new college football video game people have created SIU on there so you can play as them

I was thinking this summer we would find a transfer QB that could serve as an emergency or backup to Hunter and DJ.  Not sure it’s idea to only have 2 guys for the season.
I am only seeing two true freshman on rosters besides Hunter and DJ.
Any thoughts with camp starting tomorrow?  It’s kinda scary actually with the fact Hunter was out all spring with an injury.

I had the same concerns. I guess Hill feels comfortable enough with Jake Curry in that situation, which is asking a lot of a Freshman. Hill must have been looking at either saving the scholarship for someone else or not tying it up long term on someone he isn’t convinced with. I thought he might have been able to find a one year guy to take a flyer on, but those guys are probably looking for playing time. I don’t know, tough spot for him to be in for sure.

In today's college landscape I am not to worried about a freshman being a 3rd string QB with all the camps summer training and the high school competition improving I think Coach Hill and staff have considered everything and they are comfortable with what they have if not  they would have made a push late for a  transfer
