Fred was a huge part of Saluki athletics for decades and a Southern Illinois treasure through and through. Very sad to see; I know his wife passed away a while ago as well.

Don't know what's up with the deleted Saluki Athletics posts but his son posted Fred's obit on Facebook.

Fred was a nice guy who bled Saluki Maroon. Condolences to his family.

I used to read his columns years ago. Really good stuff - a lot of things Saluki you would never hear about otherwise. Nobody like that around anymore.
