It appears Brad Underwood has consulted SIU's former coaching staff on how to run his offense tonight!
1-19 to start the second half. Some were clean looks but as you keep on missing those open shots. Doubt starts to creep into your head. Then you start thinking and that is the worse thing you can do. UCONN is a great basketball team. I would say that it would very tough to beat them. Stranger things have happened. But tonight they were most definitely the best team on the floor without a doubt.
I think UCONN is pretty good.
Shannon, Hawkins, Goode, Rogers couldn't hit a bucket. Without Marcus, this is a 40 point loss. Marcus leading scorer with 17. Shannon probably just cost himself some money in the draft!
Hate like H to see UConn/UNC/Kansas/Duke win another National Championship, but hard to see anyone beating UConn. Purdue has the best shot if they get to the championship.
Lighten up Francis, it was a joke. However, they did keep driving straight into the lane only to be blocked by UCONN post players, which SIU's offense was notorious for this year.enough of the bashing maybe UCONN's defense has something to do with it or may the players are showing nerves could be anything but let the past goIt appears Brad Underwood has consulted SIU's former coaching staff on how to run his offense tonight!
Pretty sad New Hampshire played Uconn better (and yes, put up more points despite that "sweltering defense")

Hot take. UConn may have been slightly more locked in defensively in an elite 8 game than in a random November game against New Hampshire

Clingan only played 21 minutes in that New Hampshire game with no foul trouble and he absolutely dominated New Hampshire in those minutes. They took them very lightly.
I always wondered why he did not pursue this before. The NCAA has always been pretty lenient when it comes to injuries and applying for a “pink shirt” year.
Clingan last night, 22 minutes, 22 points 10 rebounds, 5 blocks. Clingan vs NH 21 min, 29 points 7 rebounds 1 blockPretty sad New Hampshire played Uconn better (and yes, put up more points despite that "sweltering defense")

Illinois seemed like an American East team getting pummeled in the same fashion just by more points. Maybe I am exaggerating NH played them better, but kinda looks like it in the box score. Yes different time of year, I am sure Uconn did not care if they won or lost that game. I am not saying NH would be Illinois, NH is horrible. Illinois looked like them yesterday
hot take, Illinois should have been slightly more motivated to lose by a closer margin in an elite 8 game? the logic works both ways and the box scores are similarPretty sad New Hampshire played Uconn better (and yes, put up more points despite that "sweltering defense")

and honestly, since there is no siu basketball to watch and there is literally nothing better to do, I am just going to watch that game now to see if I make any sense or not
You didn't phrase it as a joke and you continue to find a way to look back and complain and THAT'S A FACT JACKLighten up Francis, it was a joke. (After watching 3/4 of the Uconn/NH game to see if anything I said made sense) Uconn called it a game with a little over 5 minutes left, they were up 25. Thats about when Clingan played his last minute anyway. I honestly stand by what I said for the most part. NH shot 8/11 3 pt in the first half and knew better than to try playing globetrotter in the paint like IL did last night. Uconn interestingly played a 1-3-1 zone off of makes and went man on a miss a good chunk of the game, interesting because I did not know good teams knew how to play a zone. NH played Uconn better, at Uconn for that matter. Now if NH played Uconn in the game last night in the elite 8 (how did NH get to the elite 8), they probably would have lost by 45-50 but it didn't happen. The previous 2 games did happen. And yeah, none of this really matters
If you can't tell it's a joke you have absolutely no sense of humor. I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the UCONN vs Illinois game yesterday. I was in Effingham for Easter and several of them are BIG time Illini fans. If you really knew how little Illinois fans think of SIU and their fans, you might not be cheering for them, regardless of which players they poach from us.
