I will give Murray credit, in a scant 1.5 years that have established themselves as the most dickish team in the Valley.UIC helps Southern and takes down UNI in near-empty gym so Salukis are a game ahead of Panthers and others with six games to go.
However, UNI still gets Valpo twice so they very much will still be in hunt for the top four, likely to the final weekend. Murray and Belmont will also be teams to watch.

Congrats to the Sycamores for finally cracking the Top 25 polls... they're #23 in the AP and #24 in the Coaches Poll. I'd also put their current NCAA seed as a solid #9, so the Valley's got a solid shot (at this point) for two bids should the Sycs fall in St. Louis.

I must admit that I am quite envy, however, Indiana State is 100% deserving. I believe 2008 is the last year the Salukis were ranked, and that was pre-season if memory serves me correct. The dreaded 8 or 9 seed, difficult to win, with the possibility of facing #1 or #2 seed. At least you are in The Dance.
Side Note: Extremely tall task facing Belmont Wednesday. However, if a miracle occurs with a Dawgs win, the build up for Saturday at Banterra could be at least exciting. My son and I will be making the 8 hour trip.
GO DAWGS!!!
I admit I’m bitter about Indiana St being ranked. For as long as I’ve been following SIU they’ve been an afterthought on the national stage.
I hope SIU can get back to that level.
Here’s to spoiling the Sycamores’ national ranking party on Saturday night.
And then we can lay a big, fat turd at the arena, a la BH.
(Inflammatory political snark)
Illinois St up on Indiana St., once again a zone has kept them in check. Not sure it matters cause Ind St cant shoot to save their own lives but the fact still remains. I recall catching a lot of flack over suggesting throwing a zone at a couple of teams and thus far it has proven to work. The great thing about it, you can play players at their position (tired of the stretching the floor excuse). This is why you mix up the defense, and yeah Indiana St is shooting cold but that is kinda the whole point of packing the zone and hoping to create an advantage whereas there was not one initially. Interesting to see how the game goes
Come on trees, don’t blow this ranking and possible two NCAA bids against the Redbirds!
Trees are in big trouble
Sycs in big trouble in Terrible Haute! Came back, took the lead, but the Redturds playing out of their minds, especially freshman Kinziger (Wisconsin Mr. Basketball last year.) Up by 10 with under 4 minutes to go.
Sycs can't hit the broad side of a barn and appear to be wearing lead shoes tonight. Won't be ranked next week it appears.
Wow. Did not see this coming.
So much for catching them off guard…terrible loss for the Trees and the Valley

Was looking forward to Saturday, this is a buzz-kill. And now Indiana State is gonna be more focused than normal with an extra day of rest.
Life of a mid-major, can’t have an off day. Literally every player for the Trees had an off night and Kent got injured.
Crazy, at least they'll still be ranked when they get to Carbondale; let's continue to send them into a tailspin.
