I remember MSN and his fascination with Kate Beckinsale, was always funny. I remember another poster always had a thing for Hayden Panettiere, problem was, she was only like 16 at the time. haha
At the risk of getting in trouble, I have to admit to having mixed feelings about MSN (I was mostly a lurker at the time). He was very funny, witty, insightful, well-connected and always entertaining. On the other hand, it seemed that there were a lot of insults and personal attacks. I was never the target of these, but the SIU alum who introduced me to the site and had been on it for years (and often was a voice of reason) was targeted often and wound up leaving, never to return. Even so, I'd probably welcome an MSN comeback if he's mellowed a bit.
IMO you are spot-on with your assessment of his posting traits and agree if he's matured some he might be a nice addition back to this forum. Sorry to hear about you're SIU alumni friend, you should encourage him to at least check out this forum.
Go Dawgs!
Was that Spike? Or did he have a thing for someone else?I remember MSN and his fascination with Kate Beckinsale, was always funny. I remember another poster always had a thing for Hayden Panettiere, problem was, she was only like 16 at the time. haha
Yes, it was Spike....under a different name, I believe. Patoka?
Man talking about Saluki talk brings back memories. OBD’s aprils fools joke with WSU’s board was the best.
My wife found my old Salukitalk t shirt the other day. Starting 5 from ‘07 team made up as South Park characters. That was a great design.
Was much more fun arguing about top 25 rankings and NCAA tournament seeding. Good times.
I still have mine. It's still in pretty good shape. I think I've only warn it out a couple of times. I was going to have Bryan sign it but I guess I screwed that up.
After Saluki Talk and before this site, what was the previous Saluki sports board called?
Go Dawgs!
I still wear mine to games under a maroon pullover sometimes.

ah.....patoka. so one time, me and pingzing are at march madness at davies (the arena was booked for some gymnastics fundraiser.) this year the star attraction was the freshman KBS. anyway, after the event, me and ping bump into some very strange looking old guy who was wearing a shirt that said "patoka" in big giant letters. me and the ping looked at each other, smiled, and said "let's go!" we asked the gentleman for a picture with the two of us. then we posted it on salukitalk and said we met patoka! the place went crazy. never heard from patoka again.
So who is the lucky saluki-insider poster to put it at 100 pages. My money is saluki 4 life!🤔
i think years ago on salukitalk there was much interest in which poster might hit some milestone number. of course, the MSN saluki posted like 100 times a day. but if i remember, i think oberkfell snuck in at the wire with something completely irrelevant to the salukis.
It was for the one-millionth post on SalukiTalk. I don't think it was @oberkfell. I think it was @thunnellvision.
@the-bobber whatever happened to ping. I met
him once at a Springfield fundraiser for men’s Basketball with coach Watson
