Or Paul Lusk 🤣
'Old man's energy.' Paul Lusk left Purdue to be a head coach, returned a better assistant.
Hell no to Lusk, that would be worse than the Hinson hire. I'd rather hire Cuonzo Martin if they're hiring former Missouri State coaches and I don't think he's coached since Mizzou canned him.

Cuonzo ain't hurtin at all. He got $6 million not to coach at Mizzou.

Oh I'm not advocating for Cuonzo either 🤣
Read a good article on Paul Lusk and his return to Purdue. The article talked about how Matt Painter has taken a “football” approach with his assistants dividing up duties like offense, defense, scouting, etc. it was an interesting approach that I know other coaches are using.
FWIW I've been led to believe the reason McCollum hasn't accepted MSU is because he is waiting on another job to potentially open up.

Well, some might see Drake or Indiana St. as a better job than MoState?

Iowa State uses that approach too and it, at least seems like it, has been working out great for them.

Yup, down the road we'll be reading similar articles about Bryan and his coaching evolution & maturity.
Go Dawgs!

It’s very subjective but I believe those people would be wrong to thing Indiana state is a better job than Missouri state….esp for McCollum..

I've always said the Missouri State program is a sleeping giant that has failed to reach its potential because they keep screwing the pooch with subpar coaching hires. I don't see Indiana State or Drake as better jobs (especially if most of the players leave in the wake of coaching departures), but he might have his eye on something even bigger. Or maybe he doesn't like Missouri State's seeming fascination with big names and has said, "The heck with it."
Announcement is coming sometime before the end of the year!😳
The valley needs to increase the amount they pay their head coaches. The have fallen behind leagues like the Mountain West and A10. You don’t want to lose a coach to what some might consider a lateral move. We can’t compete w the Power 5 when it comes to pay but we need to w these other leagues.
We might not like to hear it, but I think the amount of people who consider the MVC and the Mountain West peer leagues is shrinking rapidly (and same with the A10, but to a lesser extent). Six NCAA bids for the Mountain West this year, one for the Valley (and one and done at that). Nico Medved leaving Drake for Colorado State several years ago is another piece of anecdotal evidence.
Sadly, this is true. But, in the last 22 seasons:
Mountain West - 62 NCAA bids and only 28 wins
MVC - 36 bids and 33 wins
Devin Johnson's Texas A&M just put up 58 points in the first half against Nebraska 😮
