A little off topic, but if you have time read the book “We Will Rise” detailing the 1977 plane crash. Great read.

I'm about halfway through that one. Good recommendation.
so EU fired McArty and hired Lickliter all in the same day?
sounds fishie to me. Why did Lickey quit in August?
He probably didn't want any part of what was developing there and knew things were going bad in hurry when the behavior did not stop.

It was one of the "Amazon First Reads" options for December, which means it's on Kindle Unlimited.

I'm still dumbfounded at McCarty's stupidity.
Left a good paying gig as a coach for the Celtics because he wanted to be a head coach in college and completely screws it up .. and future college gigs possibly.
Of course his lawyer says it's all
McCarty might have a problem that he needs to fix, I’m just surprised it was never a problem in Boston with Brad Stevens in the NBA. Maybe the pressure of a head coaching gig brought it out?
My question is what did Walter McCarty do?
Come back from beating Kentucky and say "We are going to party like they do in Kentucky, order up the hookers and blow"?

The investigation is still ongoing so there is no official report yet.

the nba isn't straddled with the same pesky rules that get you in trouble at a small private university in southern indiana.
Craving a McBride Special!

Doubt that will ever be publicly released! Walter has lawyered up!
The Rumor that I saw and came from a reliable poster.
he was in a relationship with a student. Got caught was told to stop. He apparently did not and got caught again. Also a complaint from another student but no details on that

I guess as a private school they can enforce whatever rules they want to, but if this is all it was, I don't get what the big deal is. This is college. Everyone is of legal age. If some 20 year old chick wants to have a relationship with some old coach, go for it, who cares?

Title IX violations are a big deal.
The report will leak. The memo that he was engaged in witness tampering already did.
The idea here is there is a power imbalance. Yeah: grownups, consenting parties, sure. All fine, but it can get creepy really fast. Best to just nip that shit in the bud.
I recently hung out with an SIU grad school friend who related an experience with her dissertation advisor, who stuck his hand up her dress at one point. Uh... What to do with that? If she doesn't respond, is her dissertation in jeopardy? Ugh... What to do? That's what is meant by "power imbalance."
I think universities are taking a zero tolerance policy for those reasons.
And it is nothing new. When I was a TA in the 80s, banging a student was a fireable offense, all because of the power thing, not because of any sort of tight-assed "morality."
Also? We don't know the details.
