Domask is 1 for his last 16 three pt shots! Ouch! He still is playing a ton of minutes because he does everything well. In their blowout of Mizzou last night, in 35 minutes he only had 10 pts but had 7 rbs and 7 assists.

hope Underwood isn't playing him to many minutes so he won't be wore out down the stretch maybe he is tired that's why he is having shooting problems  snide remarks intended

@jabman62 He had the most minutes on the team against Mizzou 35. Shannon had 34. That's a lot in that high tempo offense.

it was just a dig at the people who complain about his minutes last year as a Saluki  and about the minutes being distributed on this year's team how come those people aren't barking about Marcus and Shannon's minutes how come only the current Saluki coaches get the bitching about minutes it just goes to show all head coaches play their main guys heavy minutes it is just the nature of the beast

Depends on the coach and the personnel. Mizzou's a good team and even though Illinois beat them badly, that's a team that could come back on you in a hurry.

In Michigan State's recent beatdown of Stony Brook, 10 guys played over 16 minutes and nobody played over like 23. In Purdue's blowout win of Jacksonville same thing.. 10 guys played over 13 minutes and nobody played over 25. Lance had 16 points in only 20 minutes of play.

It's a good idea to rest your best players when you can and also avoid a sprained ankle or worse.

Suddenly looks like Marcus may be getting a lot more minutes. Poor Illini.

He was getting the minutes but he's going to have to shoulder a much bigger load now.  I bet he thought he was done with that.

He couldn’t wait to get out of here and now ,without Shannon, that team isn’t going anywhere.   I certainly do not wish ANY ill will on anyone but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t beyond pleased.   Hey at least he got his $$$.   F the Illini!!!!!

I wouldn't say "he couldn't wait to get out of here". That is far from the truth. He struggled with the decision, just like Lance Jones did. They graduated from SIU and left for much greater exposure and certainly much more money. Also, they both want to play professionally so this gives them a much greater opportunity for the exposure needed to pursue that goal. I don't like the Illini either, but I am certainly rooting for Marcus and Lance as they are both outstanding young men who represented our university with class and left with outstanding academic achievement.

Your post was sincerely well written and I applaud you for that (no sarcasm).  That being said, just because you wouldn't say it doesn't make it untrue.  If I may ask, albeit a moot point, how do you "KNOW" he struggled with the decision?  Regardless, the FACTS are that he is NOT a Saluki and didn't want to be here more than he wanted to leave.  I admit that I am salty over his departure as I believe it "borke the seal" / opened the door for all future really talented players to just up and leave when they found some success and display no loyalty.  I guess I'm showing my age as I've been with the same company since I graduated and have been with the same girl since 1991 (met at SIU).  All that being said, I am NOT rooting against him, but I AM rooting against the Illini and will admittedly, and unashamedly, smile if/when they fail to make the NCAA tournament, especially if that MIGHT somehow dissuade future players for leaving for "greener pastures".   Again, all just my opinion.  i promise it's all about my passion and LOVE for my alma mater, which changed my life.

i am wondering if you feel that x-man, rupert, AJ, ,mcgee, miller, and hensley all "couldn't wait to get out of there" too?

maybe kill, webber and painter couldn't wait to get out of here either.

i have been with the same gal since 1976.  but she understands if reese witherspoon rings my doorbell, i am outta here.  she doesn't even need to bring the cash.

They played here 4 years, were great Salukis that did SIU proud. Got absolutely no problem with them wanting to get more exposure and make a few bucks.

Now Banks is a different story. Becoming a Redturd is an evil act - hope they lose every game. Got stomped by Kentucky tonight. Enjoyable...even though Calipari is part of the axis of evil of college ball (along with Kelvin Sampson and Rick Pitino).

We had a couple of good players leave during the Barbeque Darkness.

I don't remember all this hate directed towards Aaron Cook when he left in 2020. He could have made a big difference here for two more years having him on the team with Jones and Domask in 21 and 22 might have put us in the NCAA tournament. But nobody seems to talk about him leaving.... like it was no big deal or something. But when Domask and Jones each give us 4 years, graduate, and transfer as graduate transfers, seems too many of you guys have something against them doing what's best for themselves for some reason. I don't get it.
