Harvey has been less than impressive this season.
He can’t keep up defensively, shot is absolutely broke. I was told he was amazing. Maybe just against our defense in practice that presents no issues for any other team either.

That was an embarrassing, inexcusable half. Wow.
I’m hopeful the coaches see the obvious: this team isn’t athletic enough to compete in the upper echelon of the MVC. Harvey, Brown, Verplancken, etc., do not make shooters uncomfortable, let alone get in their heads or physically wear them down like our 2000s guards. Thus, opponents tend to shoot well against Southern.
Needs to be addressed with a transfer or two, pronto, in addition to the incoming freshmen, who are not super athletic.
Team got walked twice by Drake WITH Domask. Illinois State and Valpo found a way to compete against them.
The gap between where SIU IS, and the top of the conference...is pretty wide. Mullins needs to hope nobody transfers, that everybody stays healthy, and that there’s significant growth next year. What a dive.

That was bad! Illinois State was much better prepared and has executed much better. Their spacing, shot selection, passing and aggressive defense has made us look like a D2 team. Also, very disappointed in our on the fly adjustments, or lack there of during the 1st half. They have thrown some aggressive zones at us, and in my opinion we haven't adjusted. I hate to say it but I feel Mullins got out-coached badly in the 1st half. Also, teams are playing with extreme confidence against us every game. Lastly, we are way less athletic than every team we play. We need athleticism!!!

This is what I have been preaching. We need to stray away from the current profile. It is not going to work. We look like a low major team walking off the bus.
