I wonder if he loves SIU so much he will try to sue them again
Barkeep apparently forgot about his first post lol
Nope that was more for those who were going to be upset. I am not upset at all. I just don’t like him
My guess is that Kill wanted to bring back Lowery when Hinson was dismissed. Someone at the university prevented him from making this hire and he’s been looking for an exit ever since. If my belief is correct, you can’t blame him for the decision. He had the opportunity to make an epic hire that would have instantly restored the marquee program at SIU to a top 25 basketball team and was blocked. Sorry to see bureaucracy at work again and I wish him well in future endeavors.
Never change, Dean. 🤣

"SIU is a family" What kind of family is it where the dad runs out for smoke and doesn't come back?

Forgive me and my opinion, but what I'm reading reminds me of a couple where both partners are happy. Then after the breakup one of them is all too excited to share with everyone how much they didn't like the person that just dumped them. You may not have liked him, but to say that Kill did not do a lot for SIU athletics is silly. I also believe his departure will have a greater impact than most will admit or realize. Hopefully his replacement can continue the positive momentum that has been growing over the past year or so.
F*** him.

Interesting responses here:
Yes I think Kill did a good job. But and it's a big BUT, I think he starves attention. Nice guy, just go away. And I think he is slowly burning some bridges.
Coach Kill has done an excellent job as a coach and an AD at SIU. We were very lucky to have him. I get the angst from some of you on here, but in the end we got the basketball coach we wanted, he raised the expectations of the athletic program in his short time here, and raised tens of millions of dollars for a cash-strapped athletics department. I know Bell tried to do the same but Jerry’s voice carries more weight. I don’t know the whole story with Barkeep and I get that Kill burned some bridges in the past, but he left athletics in a better place and I think we should be confident in Jarnigan’s ability to continue to bring SIU athletics back to prominence.
Everything happens for a reason. One persons bad news is another persons not so bad news. While sometimes entertaining meltdowns do not solve anything. Keep level heads. All is well.
And I thought this was a pre-cursor to some really awful, terrible, bad news.
Go Dawgs!
I never liked how he ended up in the AD role in the first place. And because of that BS we ended up with the Hinson shit-show for another season, which has played a significant part in just about killing all my enthusiasm for SIU.
So, sincerely - good luck at VT Mr. Kill.
