Big announcement coming in a few days!

Is Boobys re-opening?

I wish! It would be nice to have a mouthful of Booby's right about now.

Craving a McBride Special!

Anyone thinking that the Nick Hill hire not panning out as a home-run hit as of yet might be giving SIU some pause on hiring another young, unproven commodity?

The two situations are obviously different, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Hill might be hurting a potential Mullins hire from the decision-makers perspectives.

I doubt it. That is apples to oranges.

Mullins is by no means a dead issue

Thanks for your patience.  Nice to hear that Mullins is not a dead issue.  He seems like the obvious choice not that anyone is asking me.

WOOF!

Oh I agree it seems like a no brainer but it is  SIU and at this point they would fuck up a one man sack race

Don’t know if it’s the reality of the situation, but I did have this same thought.

Hey Barkeep, is Jerry Kill the sole decision maker on who gets presented to the powers to be for their stamp of approval?  Or are there more persons involved than simply the AD?

I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!

No clue. I do know they are open to input. Whether is used or not is a guess

Absolutely not

football loses money no matter what. Hill was nowhere nowhere near as qualified as Mullins .

Bryan may not get the job but not because of Hill

I saw Pat Forde's conference tournament preview on Yahoo and he picked us to win. I think it's more of a "throw out a name who cares" type of pick and he can't pick Loyola because he can't be too obvious. I for one don't think we get past UNI. It got me thinking though, if we did win,

  1. Hopefully we can still push Barry into retirement.
  2. Maybe they'll promote Beane in his place. We keep the kids and continuity from a MVC champion team. It's kind of a weird sell overall to fully fire a coach after winning a conference title. This could be the other option to Mullins that they're keeping open.

I for one want a clean start, and I think Mullins can build this program back up the right way. Come back home

Unless SIU has an ace up its sleeve (highly doubtful) once Barry leaves town, they're completely fucking stupid if they don't hire Mullins, especially after looking at where we rank budget-wise.

It might seem suspicious if we were to hire Mullins immediately without a real coaching search.  So maybe SIU is “looking into other options” but really the target is Mullins.
