You have Cook McGill Gooch and the 4 redshirts plus two freshman coming in ( I say two because I do not Believe Peyton ends up here)
i don’t know if Cook or McGill have graduated but if either has it has transfer portal written all over it. Now I know nothing about the redshirts except Schafer who is a shooter. The two recruits if we can keep them are both fairly solid
without the beane’s And the 2 seniors that leaves us Gooch and 6 freshman .

Unless something changes drastically, Chris Peyton is going to be just good enough to get a coach fired.
Barry took a big chance on him when others began backing away. There are issues that a new coach does not need. I'd rather be short handed to start.
I was just told Beane is interested in the SIU-E job . If he gets it that’s bad news
It may be a challenge in recruiting, but the C campus has lot to offer that the E campus does not.

I will be very honest.... I think Jimmy and Darius stick it out at SIU as opposed to going to SIUE... That is a huge step down.
I was actually thinking the same thing. Darius has professed he really likes it here. If Mullins comes in and puts on the full court press to keep them, I'm not convinced Darius would follow. I only mention Darius because if he stays, I'm 100% positive Jimmy will stay as well, even if Sr. gets the job at the E.
SIUe would mainly be hiring Anthony Sr. at this point to get access to his family members. Anthony Sr. is a nice guy and appears to be a competent coach but him without his son and nephew aren't as appealing. I don't know why else SIUe would hire the guy honestly. Frankly, Anthony Jr. is why Barry hired him here and Darius is why he stuck around after AB graduated. I would think he would have to promise Darius and Jimmy were coming to the E in order to hire him. Those two guys in the weaker OVC would be enough to jumpstart the rebuilding project there. But like others have said, why would Darius and Jimmy want to go play in that crap league and play their home games in SIUe's gym which is about like an average high school gym.

I agree the E is crap and the bottom half of the OVC is crap. However, the top three are good teams. Murray and Belmont would have won the MVC this year. Murray is a 12 seed. Belmont SHOULD get in but they're on the bubble.
