Speculating on coaching staff if Mullins is hired: Tony Young, ex-Saluki guard, current head coach at Marmion Academy is also one of the coaches of the Illinois Wolves U16 team.

If Kill is looking for toughness, I think that move would fit the bill!

Both Marty Simmons and Brad Soderberg would be great additions to our staff at SIU - but frankly we can't afford either as an assistant.  I know Soderberg has a 250k salary plus post season bonuses at UVA.  Soderberg is Tony Bennett's right-hand man and is very close to the Bennett family.

I do agree that Bryan could use a veteran assistant (if he indeed is named as our coach).  It is a giant step to the head coaching position. Having someone with prior HC experience would be invaluable.

Another coach gone and we’ll see more openings this week as seasons come to an end

Experience, albeit not as a head coach, and familiarity with the current landscape are reasons I think Mullins would strongly consider keeping Beane around, aside from his son and nephew. I don't think he will land the job at the E.

The E has already hired. The "interim" title is on Barone pending BOT approval of his contract.

Noted. I'd seen the rumor, but wasn't sure it was official.

Billy is not the kind of guy you want at this program.

Doesn’t really fit what Kill said he was looking for.  And Kennedy can probably get a better job with more money anyways.  Someone will hire him.

Ohio paid Phillips 575k I think last year... If they were interested in Mullins, that would be some serious competition.

He's interim - that doesn't mean AB won't get the job. I assume they're still looking.
