Horizon tournament is in Detroit
FWIW I heard from a big time donor yesterday that they were in Detroit yesterday and then will be in STL this weekend for interviews.
The Horizon League tournament was in Detroit.
Neither Michigan or Michigan St left for the Big ten tournament until today

Damn, scooped by Barkeep again! 😆
🤣🤣🤣🤣
or you told me that but whatever
Maybe a Fife interview in Detroit makes sense if attempting to avoid attention of meeting him at Big 10 Tourney in Chicago.
Very curious who they are interviewing in St. Louis...
Bring back FLOOR BURN U !!
Why is fife an attractive candidate his head coaching experience doesnt look to stellar.

I don't think he is. Guess they have to do due diligence. Hopefully Mullins is announced as HC within the next few days.

I would kind of ignore whatever he did at IPFW considering he was 25 at the time he got the job. That's kind of ridiculous. I think he probably deserves another shot after 8 years coaching under Izzo. Not saying I'd like for it to be at SIU but I can see why there would be some interest there.
I think Fife is waiting on Indiana. Here is his record and I think it is impressive.
Fife was named head coach of the IPFW Mastodons basketball team in 2005 at the age of 25.[9] In his first season, he led the Mastodons to 10 wins, the most the team had earned in a season since jumping to Division I in 2001.[9] In his fifth season as coach, the 2009–10 Mastodons squad posted their first ever winning record as a Division I basketball team. Upon joining the Summit League in the 2007–08 season, the Mastodons finished no worse than fifth place in conference play under Fife.
Before the 2010–11 season, Fife had considered assistant coaching jobs at Indiana under Tom Crean and Michigan under John Beilein.[11][12] He ultimately remained at IPFW, where he coached the team to a program-best 18–12 record.
Fife's teams at IPFW improved their winning percentage from the previous season in each year that Fife coached.
Assistant at Michigan State
Following the 2010–11 season Fife was contacted by Purdue basketball head coach Matt Painter to fill the associate head coach position. On April 15, 2011, Fife withdrew his name from consideration for the Purdue job.[14] Fife was named assistant coach at Michigan State by Tom Izzo on April 20, 2011. He replaced Mark Montgomery, who was named head coach at Northern Illinois in March 2011.
Fife brought the defensive intensity he possessed as a player to his role as a coach, as the Spartans held opponents below a .400 field-goal percentage from 2011–2015, including ranking second nationally in both 2015–16 (.382) and in 2011–12 (.379), marking the best effort by MSU since 1959. He is also instrumental in MSU's scouting and recruiting efforts. A May 2014 article by Jeff Goodman and Jay Bilas at ESPN.com listed Fife among the top head coaching candidates in the nation.
On March 23, 2017, it was rumored that Fife was close to accepting the head coaching position at Duquesne, but shortly thereafter it was reported that he had declined the position.

Kid Kent?
Kill isn't going to pull a Hinson off the woodwork somewhere is he? (Paul Lusk...)
Kent Williams would be a terrible option.
I heard a rumor that John Pelphrey is looking for a HC position again. That doesn't fit with Detroit or St.Louis though.
The Favorite
Bryan Mullins

I think Dane would be an excellent candidate. Anyone who thinks they, or any coach could have done more with IPFW than what he did doesn't know their @$$ from third base. Seriously. Just to get that program above .500 was a major accomplishment. He's the one that got them moving forward in D1 and his successors have built on it.
But I doubt he's coming here. I think he's waiting on Izzo.
