PT would be good in a PR/marketing job, but not here. Too much of a cloud and distraction. The MVC should hire him to do something.
I agree. I think there's a place for Hinson promoting or broadcasting in the MVC.
Either way, the sooner SIU moves on from this and starts gauging interest from perspective candidates the better.
Only one problem: He'd be a former employee of two league schools. I don't see him being thrilled to come back into the building at SIU or Mo State as a former coach of both schools if he's broadcasting any of those games. Imagine Hucky on the call of SIU vs. Mo State. He wouldn't be able to keep his mouth shut about pleading his case to why he should still be coaching at one of them. It's all about Hucky all the time.
The MVC tournament begins in 47 days (Thursday, March 7 Game 1). Realistically it's too late to make a coaching change.

It's never too late.
Don't worry. Jerry and Greg will sign some has been chode to take over this once proud program .

You are correct. It's never too late. However I don't think it is fair to turn this mess over to an assistant and then base future hiring decisions (Anthony Beane Sr.) on this year's final 47 days.
It is a mess, but to continue on with Hinson at this point is just continuing down the rabbit hole in my opinion. I think him either stepping down or getting rid of him right now and at least letting the other coaches change the systems, even to just a basic motion and pushing the tempo would give them a chance to finish on a high note. He said to not blame or put it on the players but to put it all on him. I don't blame the players, their frustration is almost written on their faces and expressions. And I don't know who else he thinks everyone is blaming, it is completely on him. Someone just needs to let them play. We have some very good basket attackers in Lloyd, Beane, McGill, and Fletcher, yet basically all they are allowed to do is pass the ball around the perimeter and try to get it to the post. This team is capable of playing very up-tempo on both offense and defense and has finishers and pretty good quickness and speed. But we walk the ball up, play basically a 4-1 and in doing so and making them press to get the ball to the post create opportunities for turnovers because it is forced.
Sorry to rant, but I would rather see him gone and tell the Beane and assistants to let them play!
"to continue on with Hinson at this point is just continuing down the rat hole"
Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is (wait for it) insanity. Make a change as soon as possible. Enough is enough.
WOOF!

I agree with this. Let them run N gun and attack the basket. We have the athletes. We should be pressing and much better than 9-10 with this group of talent.
they have always been good in transition. they get gummed up when coach forces them to run clock and look for a desperation shot. open it up and let the experience take over.

the finalists were believed to be Hinson, Watson, and Muller after Weber said he wasn't interested.

Sounds a little stacked for Barry. Muller had no experience and Watson was Watson.

There is only ONE person on this list I would have and degree of trust with. ONE.
