Might as well just let X take 25 shots a game and go for a scoring title to give us something to watch, since it'll be yet another year without a postseason.
Gus Macker? Or is that still around?

I could handle a reset year if I thought next year they had a chance at contending. They're not going to contend next year either. They're going to lose X and Trent. The 4 portal guys they got this offseason are unplayable. They played 3 combined minutes and got you 0 points. There's a good chance this team is worse next year and plays closer to the 9th place they were picked this year.
I said the exact thing while saying don’t throw it away cause he does that. And he did. Doesn’t change the fact the game should have been over. Refs screwed x on the foul when he clearly had the guy in the air. Game over. No overtime. What in the actual fuck was that. D’Amico had two really bad turnovers down the stretch.
If Ebube had done any one of those things, he'd have been yanked and not seen the floor for another two games.
Hell, he doesn't even have to do that for that to happen.
that said zero Hensley development and no Cade last year. No post and shoot threes is their motto. This game doesn’t change anything but seeding. My concern is if they can play with the top and still two games to prove that. But probably go man against Drake and see another 30 in the paint and get carved against isu, would love to be wrong. Not giving up on the team or the staff but not dropping 2k for a stl trip. The real proof in the pudding is how they handle and adjust to the top teams, in reality our only hopes may be in the lawnmower man and sharp blades. Sorry that game sucked guys
i will throw this out there. if I had an SIU alum working under me then I would give them the benefit of the doubt.Still why no Ebube? I don’t understand.
Puzzling. Especially when we had fouls to give. Oh well BM is an alumni. Can’t say anything derogatory.
but at some point that person would have to produce results or they would be held to the same standards of production as everyone else on my staff.
When this team ends up finishing 6th and bows out in a Friday game at the Lou, the Mullins apologists will point to that 9th place preseason prediction and laud him for finishing ahead of that prediction...
...but the rest of us just keep staring at his complete lack of endgame managerial ability and wonder how much longer we've gotta keep watching this.
I certainly will not post during games, because I want to enjoy watching each contest. I might add that I seldom post after a loss because my emotions are running high.
It makes one ponder this: With some of these most recent embarrassing home losses, does Mullins really want to be at SIU? If so, I would think you would absolutely know how important a win tonight is, and you would pull out all stops to get it done. Frozen in the moment. Again. Sad.
Some folks are saying the Chancellor has a list of candidates, but who really knows?
There were at least two posters (oberkfell and I, possibly others) who noted that we were slowing things down, playing to not lose, at around the six-minute mark.
I wonder if that gloating douche-nozzle from the Murray State game will be here to point out how wrong we were . . .
I don't want Mullins fired; I just want him to LEARN.
I have no doubt that he will be a good coach some day, but I fear that we have the Porter-Moser-at-ISU version of Bryan Mullins right now.
(Inflammatory political snark)
can't blame them for poor player utilization by the coaching staff. It would be nice if we were improving at this time of year instead of the alternative. I'm getting closer and close to acceptance / apathy.
Good night all !!!
Don't worry, 62.6% of their scoring from tonight won't be on the team next year and they have 0 incoming recruits
Don’t fret BM will land two or three stiffs from the portal.
Hey, their 4 portal gets from this offseason scored a combined 0 points today

Possibly, but I haven't see anything from Hensley and Miller that makes me want to see more of them. Stulic was good early in the season and then couldn't hit a shot and got dropped completely from the rotation.

I think that is a fair assessment, and no he will not comment on our rather obvious observations.
Rupert played 32 minutes - played well for the most part and had 8 rbs
Ebube played 12 minutes and had 6 rbs
D'Amico played 44 and he was gassed the last 10 minutes.
Kennard Davis only played 13 minutes - that's a mistake - he's tough and a good defender. Would like to have seen him on Clay last part of that game. Fresh legs - I think he could have made things tougher for Clay.
That was Clay's best game this year. 24 pts, 7 rbs, 2 stls
That was so bad. Inconceivably atrocious game management from the coaching staff.
Last 6 minutes of offense...?
Resemblance of any plan whatsoever coming out of timeouts...?
Ebube...?
Kennard Davis...?
44 minutes of D'mico...?
The final inbounds play with 4 seconds...?
Did I mention that we completely wasted another players' entire freshman year of eligibility for a handful of meaningless minutes for the 2nd year in a row?
I love the culture. I love the character. I love the defense. But good lord. The coaching decisions are indefensible.

I've been saying for two years BM is a young coach with a lot to learn. 1st lesson - recruiting is everything - get good players!!
Porter Moser, who had nothing to do with Loyola making the Final Four (LOL), is at 16 - 5 Oklahoma - ranked #23.
I blame D'Amico's Grade School Coach for not teaching him what "double dribble" is.
