There are two current redshirts on the bench. However, who was the last redshirt to have a major impact on the program? Darren Brooks?
Hairston, Falker, Brooks, I am pretty sure there were others

Armon Fletcher was probably the last really good player for Southern that redshirted his freshman season. If Wonders or Ebube end with a career anywhere close to the career Armon had we will all be happy!

Pretty sure Hairston played his Freshman Year.
Hairston played after he spent a year at prep school
Ok since BMF

Are you saying Armon Fletcher did not have a major impact on the program?

My 2 cents is Fletcher had a positive impact on the program, but I'd reserve "major impact" for guys who impacted major successes: conferences titles, postseason play, etc.
IMO, Fletcher was a good player on some decent teams, but I would not put him in a category with other redshirts mentioned like Brooks and Falker.

The question was major impact, not the best players on ncaa tourney teams. Fletcher scored 1385 points, had 521 rebounds and 131 steals in a 4 year Saluki career where he missed quite a few games due to injury. He was 2nd team all mvc and NABC all district 2nd team. He scored 16.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, shot 42% from 3 and 52% from the field his senior year. His stats are better than Stetson Hairstons, and I love Stetson Hairston. To minimize his impact because he wasn't on great teams is not relevant to the question posed in this thread. The 2017-2018 team he led is the best team we have had since our 2007/08 NIT team.
@rockin-dawg I'm pretty sure Hairston was not eligible to play freshman year due to grades. He paid his way, but I'm not sure he was able to practice with team. He made his grades up and was eligible to play a fourth year (his 5th year). Again I don't remember if he did or not.
Hairston went to prep school out of high school and he played his Freshman year at SIU.
Brad Korn red shirted his sophomore year.

@local-saluki I think you're thinking of that other Belleville East standout, Mike Dale.

I thought he was describing Justin Bocot's experience at SIU. One thing for sure is, it was not Stetson Hairston.
