Drake shoots 40 free throws and we shoot 22. That's absolutely ridiculous when it's equally physical at both ends. They outscored us by 12 at the free throw line, that was the difference. We outplayed Drake in almost every category. Mullins talking about the things we can't control. That's as far as he can go without saying the refs sucked and we got hosed!

35 pts for XJ. Rupert played really well - 6 pts, 11 rbs, 1 steal, 2 blocks.

Ebube played well but only 12 minutes. Should have been more.

Sick to my stomach at that ending…tried to turn it over twice before we finally do it by not inbounding the ball. You have to get a shot off there…great effort, but this team sure seems to shrink when the game is on the line.

Enough of the end of game coach bashing I am sure these plays are practiced over and over during practice for these situations sometimes things happen good defense a player mishandling a dribble someone not getting open but the coaching isn't one of them I understand emotions are high  after a loss but this team is on an upward trend no moral victories but have to love how this team competes

You really giving Mullins a pass? This has happened over and over. Bad inbounds plays or turnovers on inbounds. That IS largely on him! That last play in OT was shit. He needs to brainstorm plays with his assistants and do a better job teaching his players in practice.

That said, I thought the refs won this game for them. Should have never gone to OT. Brodie and Devries should have fouled out.

Sorry, but this is wrong. After SIU was gifted that jump ball at the end, Mullins draws up an inbounds play with one guy moving, away from the inbounder, and the other three guys were just standing in place. That could not have been a worse design. Looked terrible.

That said, great effort. Definitely deserved to win that game. Too bad.

I don't think Mullins coached a bad game. We just don't have good inbounds plays. We definitely need better inbound plays, that's on the coaches, but I thought the in game coaching overall was good tonight. Better motion on offense tonight. If we shoot our normal percentage from 3 we win going away. No moral victories, but we are playing better and at a much higher level. I now think the only team we would have a very hard time beating at Arch madness is Indiana State. We can play with and beat anyone else.

I haven't commented on officiating all year.  But yeah, very one-sided and Brodie got away with murder tonight.  Still, we got the shot we wanted to win it in regulation.  XJ just left it short.

Thought it was a good effort, not really upset about anything other than the last 2 plays.  This team has a lot of work to do this offseason to replace X.

If you saw how awkward that shot was, his arm must have been slapped on the way up…no call. He was pissed at the refs and yelling…can’t imagine he would be that upset unless there was some contact.

I think this the best team we have had since 2008.  It was a tough loss but still a step forward.

we may want more faster but I believe if we continue to support Mullins he will take us back to the Big Dance consistently in the years to come.

Go Dawgs

@siu_2011 Prob got grazed on the elbow. Would've been a foul if it was Devries

Of course I'm biased, but if tonight was not a prime example of homer officiating,it never happens. Seemed generally unbalanced ,but worst of all,the calls and no calls at critical times conveniently favored the home team.

Great effort . Always hard to beat 8 guys on their court.

Would have liked to see Mullins pick up a T at some point. The bad calls added up and were costly.

The lousy end of game offensive execution is looming large in this season. Hard to stomach. X scored 35 and was terrific. At the same time, it is within the rule book for someone else to touch the ball in the final minute, right? They’re quite overdue to find an open look or cut from somebody else.

Also, on no planet should Hensley be getting more minutes than Ebube. The box score tells it all.

Drake was shorthanded and beatable tonight. A good effort but huge missed opportunity.

I just watched a replay of the the inbound with 1.8 seconds left. The ref counted 4 and blew the whistle while we were inbounding it. Watch the refs arm! He blows the whistle after his 4th arm wave and the ball was inbounded at the same time. We got it in in plenty of time and he blew the whistle at 4 seconds, BY HIS COUNT. You can't make this Sheet up!!!!
