Anyone know what's up here? Not great to have a revolving door of AD's.
If true peculiar timing
This is odd. I don't know anything about her really but when Tommy was let go I was very very unhappy.
I was indifferent, or possibly slightly cold, to the idea of her hiring but I have to admit that she grew on me. I admittedly don't have any details or inside information on how successful she was at her job or how the coaches felt about her, but from my vantage point (300 miles away and in a different state), she was doing well. I wish her the best of luck and hope that the next AD can make a difference and STAY AWHILE !!!!!
I met her when Jerry was AD and she was very kind and seemed like a great person. The timing is odd for letting her go. She appeared to be doing a good job. If the timing weren’t so sudden, I would chalk it up to the new chancellor wanting to hire his own AD. Very strange…..
Holy crap! I hope this doesn't negatively impact recruiting.
We may never know the reason. Interested in seeing Weber's statement tomorrow. I would say it might have something to do with lack of fundraising or recruiting if it had happened in May or June.
The timing reminds me of the McCarty situation..the discovery of something that has to stop immediately.
Remember Chancellor Lane was in hot water at Texas Southern over his failure to stop an employee's questionable activities. Maybe he's being proactive. Or maybe LJ is actually Morris and is undermining The SIU.
I have no idea!
I don't have any specific details but I was told that Liz had been bumping heads w/ the Chancellor for quite some time. I don't think this was a spur of the moment thing.
We are working on this folks. I should have something soon

We spoke to Liz Jarnigan last Thursday in Cape. The two takeaways I had following the conversation were:
1. The debt on saluki way is still quite significant.
2. She and the Chancellor were not necessarily on the same page. She made it pretty obvious to read the tea leaves.
Regardless of whether there is good cause to let her go, the timing is horrible! You do not announce her firing the day before arguably our biggest football game of the year! They should have waited until Monday, at the earliest! We will be in Manhattan and I'm sure we will learn more there if there are still unanswered questions after tomorrow. IMO, this is really bad form on the part of SIU leadership!

Considering COVID & the problems already facing the school, this doesn't seem like good news. Also the lack of stability at an important position isn't great either. Mullins is going into his 3rd season and this will be his 3rd different AD whenever they hire a new one. If I'm Mullins, Hill, or any of the athletics coaches, I'm not feeling good about that.
This is stunning. The only advantage SIU has, is Hill and Mullins being SIU guys who love their school/community. Otherwise, I’d be afraid they’d bolt. This has got to be something big for it to happen so abruptly. Double woof.
