1st and 3rd no one out…two batters watch a called strike three and Rhodes tries to draw a throw to second so they can steal a run…guy gets thrown out by a mile. I think I’m convinced this team isn’t very good.
In the immortal words of baseball legend Carlos Zambrano, “We stinks!”1st and 3rd no one out…two batters watch a called strike three and Rhodes tries to draw a throw to second so they can steal a run…guy gets thrown out by a mile. I think I’m convinced this team isn’t very good.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
I know baseball is a bit of a different animal but I have to imagine that almost exclusively recruiting JUCOs and older D1 transfers, while possibly good/effective in a "win now" type of scenario, more likely to lead to a state of perpetual rebuilding.
There are exactly 1 FR on this roster.
32 of the 35 players are either JUCO or D1 transfers.
The season before Rhodes took over it was 14 JUCO or transfers out of 30.
It is a way to build a team that will vary greatly in results from season to season.

At some point you have to also have Young players to develop too.
You can't build through the JUCO/transfer ranks exclusively and hope to be competitive with any frequency.
