This is also another good reminder that recruiting rankings should be taken with a giant grain of salt. Even at the time, it was apparent that guys like Kent Williams, Jamaal Tatum and Matt Shaw were huge gets, even if the rankings don't match some of the guys listed above.
I agree Cade should have redshirted.
I have a question concerning are Cade and Ebube for the members.
As much as I agree with those who mention that Muila has improved, I'm not sure bringing him back next year is the correct move. IMO We have two underclassmen...(Cade and Ebube) who have a much higher ceiling than Muila. If BM thinks these two have a future with SIU than let Muila go and trust in your younger recruits next year. I don't think we want to let Cade or Ebube get limited time again next year. From the little I've seen of both of them, I think both can be more than capable MVC players. IMO, I think Muila is already close to his ceiling. What's the thinking on this out there?
It totally depends, if Marcus and Lance come back I want JD on the roster. He is an absolute difference maker. If those 2 move on, I would agree, time to turn it over to the younger guys... Is there any indication what the likes of X, Lance, and Marcus are thinking in regards to next year?I agree Cade should have redshirted.

I'm pretty sure JD is out of eligibility after this season, although I can't currently source where I heard/read the info..

@bleedfknmaroon25 This crap is confusing since COVID. Here is what is on his bio: 2 seasons at JUCO. 20-21 was an injury redshirt (COVID season, so irrelevant), 2021-2022 played here, so I think that 22-23 should be his last. 4 seasons, the redshirt coming the same year as COVID so it shouldn’t matter. That’s his 5 years.

He was listed as a Junior last year on his roster bio on the Saluki website. He should still have one year of eligibility left because everyone before the Wonders/Ebube recruiting class gets an extra year. I'm guessing he got a medical redshirt for the year he sat out so that shouldn't count towards that extra year as far as I know.

I could see that being the case. I just thought the school of thought was that you get 4 years plus 20-21 season. Well, this is his fourth outside of that year.
The one you are suggesting would mean they get 5 playing years period, where I believe that wasn’t the case. Just that 20-21 didn’t count.
For what it’s worth, I’m about 51% confident in this 😂
Im not sure either, but i think you are right. I don't think guys get a 6th year for covid, you get a 5th, but not a 6th.@bleedfknmaroon25 This crap is confusing since COVID. From what I read the COVID policy gave student athletes 6 years (instead of the normal 5) to complete 4 years of participation with the COVID year not counting towards the 4.
Totally agree. Add Chris Carr and Darren Brooks to the list. This is also another good reminder that recruiting rankings should be taken with a giant grain of salt. This is the last time I'm going to write this. Muila and Newton are out of eligibility after this season. Domask, Jones, Brown and Johnson can choose to exercise their covid year if they wish. Those are facts.
@resaluki-88 So you're saying Muila and Newton might be back.
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
No, they are out of eligibility. They cannot come back. Johnson, Domask, Jones and Brown can come back if they wish. It is up to those 4 players as to whether they wish to come back. I'm sure they're all invited to come back, but that is certainly no guarantee they will come back. They will all have graduated and sometimes players like to move on to the pros or to a career.@resaluki-88 So you're saying Muila and Newton might be back.
I guess I lied about not writing anymore about this....
@resaluki-88 But Mulia and Newton have one more year to play if they want don't they?
I'm not sayin' -- I'm just sayin'!
Newton definitely doesn't... the JD situation is murky due to injuries along with COVID@resaluki-88 But Mulia and Newton have one more year to play if they want don't they?
