I think we have a lot of guard minutes to sell but if we want Cade and Ebube to take the next step, I don't know if we have that many minutes to sell for forwards, especially when you factor in D'Amico and Rupert.  It's what makes the guard recruiting all the more frustrating.

Most of us are also SIU Alumni, so obviously we are all of the mindset that it’s not necessary to go to a B1G school and see the benefits of a mid-major.

I agree this doesn’t look good but the coaches didn’t know until late that we’d be losing our 2 best players.  You can’t recruit for spots that you aren’t certain will be available.

I'm not assuming he will, just that it will not be guaranteed like it would at SIU.  There will be players there that will not be happy with sitting a LOT more than they're used to and like.  Not sure if Allick will fall into that category, but that wouldn't have even been a concern if he came here.  Good luck to him though.

I am just not sure I agree that he would play THAT many more minutes here than at Nebraska. We have a few guys fighting for mins at the 4/5 spots. Rupert, Ebube, Hornecker, D'Amico, and I think Davis play some 4 as well. I am all for getting the young guys some run in a rebuilding year. We needs guards more than anything

If I were a betting man, and I am, I would easily take the over on an experienced Power 5 player over young kids who couldn't crack the lineup at SIU.  But unfortunately, I guess we'll just never know.

This one remains a bit of a head scratcher.  Nebraksa seems to be in a similar situation as SIU was last year withe regards to having too many players to give minutes too.  Someone is going to be playing a lot less minutes whether that's new guys or legacy players.  I get that they are in the B10 but man, SIU would offer huge PT and a chance to be a star.  To each their own.

Pretty easy to be an arm chair quarterback on what you would do if you were in the same situation.  A lot of things come into play with what school you choose.  Campus, education, women….etc.  You wanna star at Lewis University or be a role player at SIU?

At what point do we start looking at what is happening with the City of Carbondale, with recruits not choosing us? What do we have to offer outside of basketball? The town has lost a lot in the last 10-15 years.

It's a FORUM, that's what we do.  : )   And as I've said, we're all different.  I can't say what I would do if I were Allick or anyone else.  I just know what I would do if:

A. It were ME

B. What I would advise my kid if he/she were in that situation.

Again, to each their own and good luck to them all.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet, but he is from Lincoln, Nebraska...who knows what went into his decision, but good luck to him, on to the next.

His sister is also on the Volleyball team:

I think they knew going in they didn't have much of a chance with him, it's why they pushed Langston Wilson so hard.  Doesn't seem like that's happening either.

Allick seemed like a bit of a long shot and I'm not too torn up about it honestly. He had one year left and of course he could have helped, but I'm also intrigued by our big guys.

Langston's situation is a bit perplexing. I certainly don't want him to come here if he doesn't feel it's best for him, but I'm not sure what he's waiting on at this point. It sure seems like despite the "drop down a level" comment he's holding out for a Power 6 team to come calling. Maybe he gets it, but maybe he ends up dropping to an even lower level if he doesn't find something soon. Iona seems to have backed off, eventually SIU will too if they haven't already.

Hopefully he finds the right situation for him.

I don't know if they were. I do know they need another point guard to complement Johnson.

As for news coming ... yes please. Ya can't sign five guys until you sign one.

Relax  I promise it’s coming

Appreciate the update BK and not worried.

What is also coming is whining, bitching and moaning. No matter who we sign. Yes, I know it's a fan board. Have at it.

March on triumphantly!
