Big win and great team effort. Seeing Kennard, AJ, Troy, Scottie, & even Hensley step up like that in the second half gives me a little more hope for our immediate future. Now hit that portal and sign some stud experienced guards for next year!

Very fun game. Moo stepped up big time and played like a dawg. He really looked comfortable out there. Troy was tearing up the zone. X was definitely hurting there in the 2nd half.

not sure why our 5 isn't guarding their 5 - that's a recipe for disaster
it was a terrific game plan, not having our 5 try to cover Avilas pick and pop, which we have shown an inability to do. Allowed us to keep our big much closer to the basket, condense the floor on them. Helped eliminate some of their back cutting and easy scores around the rim. Great adjustment. Helped us win the game.

Avila is probably a much different player at SIU. Still really good but he fits in well to what Schertz does, which is run a modern basketball offense.
just so we are clear though, Bryan also runs an extremely modern offense… we just haven’t really had a stretch 5.
X and Brown got banged up pretty good tonight. X really gutted it out. Hurt his right ankle or foot pretty significantly. He now has a bad right foot/ankle and bad left knee. Hope the foot/ankle recovers well. Brown hurt his ankle again too.

Not verified but many have said that the staff actually CHOSE Cade over him. If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about their ability to recruit, then nothing does. Cade is a GREAT kid, but even when 100% healthy will almost assuredly not be nearly as good as Avila
