I'll be shocked if it's not Spradlin. But McCollum would be a good choice, too.
Jesus Christ really ?
have a brain and Stop believing everything people post on anything .
ask yourself do you honestly think Bruce was offered the job ?
do you even for Half a second think we would not have known this ?
this is really giving me a headache. There is a whole whole bunch of misdirection being thrown at you. Watch the movie swordfish. Get back to me
You don't think they reached out to Bruce in some form? I know Tim/Lane weren't here but they rolled out the red carpet for him after Lowery was fired. It would honestly be a disservice to not at least gauge his interest even with him being 67
The crap people believe on this board is amazing.
Think we will here any news today ?
@salukiworld don’t be surprised if Lowery is in the mix at UIC
Honestly, I could See Mullins landing on his feet at DePaul or UIC, (His record at SIU is a lot better than those programs current track records, and closer ties to recruiting for the area could put him as a top contender.)
Nobody is looking to hire a coach that just got fired.
To quote a Valley Coach, Royce Waltman, "Well, I can't get a head coaching job, because if you get fired for cheating you can get hired right back again," Waltman said. "But if you get fired for losing you're like you've got
leprosy."Larry Eustachy was fried from Iowa State for going to collage drinking parties. (pictures from him at a University of Missouri party, off Quinn Snyder's camera, showed him drunk with young ladies)
Mullins was fired for not making the postseason, (just like Hinson from SW Mo State) someone somewhere will see his winning career as an improvement and give him a shot. (UIC maybe, they have been on 20+ loss seasons, below 500 for 5 years)
I don't feel Brad Korn will have a shot.
Eustacy was fired from CSU for doing a lot of crazy sh1t there too! He was a mad man.
The valley needs to increase the amount they pay their head coaches. The have fallen behind leagues like the Mountain West and A10. You don’t want to lose a coach to what some might consider a lateral move. We can’t compete w the Power 5 when it comes to pay but we need to w these other leagues.
something to add to the list of things to wonder about, Harry has now deleted this tweet.https://twitter.com/FatherHarry1/status/1770930631284838748?s=20

We might not like to hear it, but I think the amount of people who consider the MVC and the Mountain West peer leagues is shrinking rapidly (and same with the A10, but to a lesser extent). Six NCAA bids for the Mountain West this year, one for the Valley (and one and done at that). Nico Medved leaving Drake for Colorado State several years ago is another piece of anecdotal evidence.
And not to be all doom and gloom, but this offseason does not set up well for the Valley, with Schertz and DeVries rumored to depart (and surely take players with them), and a bunch of all-conference players already in the portal. Belmont could have been a top-40 team next year and now, who knows ...
While it's not time to panic if there's no news today, I think it's fair to say the longer it stretches out, especially with coaches like Spradlin and McCollum now done with their seasons, the less likely that things are going smoothly.
Best-case scenario would be that they had a handshake agreement nearly in place and they can finalize with their preferred candidate quickly once their season is over ... if there is conviction on both sides.

When Pat Skerry of Towson State in the Coastal Athletic Conference was mentioned early on as a possible candidate because his connection with Leonard, I looked up his salary and it was more than $500K per year. This for someone who has a career record of barely over .500 and no NCAA appearances in 13 seasons. Also looked up Pat Kelsey, the highly successful College of Charleston coach in the same conference. He's making $1.1 million. Good grief, this is the CAA, a league I would consider a rung below the Valley!

I have a bad feeling we’re gonna miss out on everyone and end up with smithpeters
