Watched the 2nd half of #25 Illinois - #1 Kansas. Home team Illinois won 82 - 75 and they are better than #25 in the country...veteran team with guys like Shannon, Hawkins, Domask. They had Marcus playing point guard when he was in - believe he played 30 minutes. Shannon and Hawkins are probably gonna play in the NBA.

I think Marcus will eventually score more - he's really playing too unselfishly currently, just looking to pass and assist almost 100% of the time.

Lance shot poorly for #3Purdue (who lost in OT at #14 Arkansas) , but the guy writing in the Purdue blog said this:

  • Lance Jones didn’t shoot the ball well, 2-11, but I loved his energy moving the ball and his defensive mindset. He’s really going to be a great compliment to Braden Smith.

Jones led Purdue with 2 steals (no surprise) in 26 minutes.

whuuutt!? You don’t think it’d be delightful to hear of the shiny new accolades of the dudes that bent your alma over the knee after fist-bumping the “IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU” diddy on the wall of the locker room tunnel for four years?

In terms of Domask and Jones, they both graduated. I don't blame them for taking 6 figures to play for potential final 4 teams. They both want to play pro ball and this is also a better avenue to get exposure for that. Not to mention the competition and atmospheres they'll be playing in. A lot of us are interested in keeping tabs.

I have no issue with these transfers except maybe with Banks going to a conference rival.  As I have stated before, I hated seeing Verplancken leave and thought that was a major loss for last season.  SIU could have used his offense last year.

if you look at the Illinois NIL site, you will see each player has their own shirts for sale.  I am sure these sales help fund their basketball NIL. I have no interest in buying a Domask shirt and will hate it if I see one in the Banterra Center.  I do hope he and the others, except Banks when playing Southern, have good seasons.

They graduated and played here 4 years. Don't blame them a bit for wanting something new and the chance to play on NCAA teams.
