Was going to watch the replay, but when I saw we were down 30, decided to just waste a few minutes catching the end. If there's any team and coach I hate to lose to, it's these t u r d s!

Listening to the post-game, Mike Starrick saying Redturds played very well (4 in double figures) and we just aren't scoring enough...can't beat people scoring just 55 points. We played without any energy and not enough effort.

We can't live by the 3. Think it is obvious the loss of Mulia was a disaster.

Filewich is the POG, the only bright spot. Did not get enough shots according to Starrick.  I agree. We need to go inside more.. But Filewich only 1 for 4 FTs.

For this team to win, we have to shoot well and Jones has to score and contribute. Sounds like he was off..only played 24 minutes.

We shot 38%, 23% from 3, 46% FTs....Bad!

Starrick and Reis:  not great effort this game!

Hope we come out fired up tomorrow.

No post-game w. BM. He's still reaming them out!

And both took over teams in far better shape than Bryan did.   Relax this is a learning year that was crippled by Covid  shutdowns and 2 major injuries

You know it’s a rough day when Mullins doesn’t make it out in time to talk to Reis.

I sure hope they don't rush Domask back. As Starrick said, even if cleared, he will not have the conditioning to play effectively for a good long time. I say let that stress fracture on top of the foot heal completely.

I think it’s apparent based on how long he’s been out that they have no intention to rush him.

First I get the news this morning that Dunkin Donuts is dropping one of my favorite donuts. Then I had to fight through grocery shopping because Sothern Illinoisans panic with the threat of snow. Then this debacle happens.

Lord - just kick me in the nether region and let's call it a day shall we? And let's just call this what it is.... I said this in the women's thread; this season, with injuries and COVID interruptions should now be renamed the Scrimmage Season for teams like us and others. (see UK and Duke. Lol!)

These games should just be viewed as scrimmages. Since no one is really losing anything (i.e. eligibility). Keep Domask on the shelf, foot injuries can be a bitch. (Remember what happened to Michael Jordan early in his career? He had a stress fracture in his foot, came back too early and basically missed a whole season because of it?) Save Jones the mileage and abuse and limit his minutes. Let the kids who don't get much PT play some more. And sit back and watch Filewich develop and wonder Wow! This kid will end up being a steal!

Scrimmage Season.

Sorry for the rant, it's been a tough day.

(And as if anyone cares - its the cinnamon apple filled donut that's being dropped. I've literally been eating this donut since I could first eat solid food.  I'm from Massachusetts originally, and DD - Dunkin Donuts - is an additional genetic base pair that I carry.)

Not trying to be disrespectful or anything but how did Coach Mullins take over a team in worse shape than Hinson? Did we not go something crazy like 6-25 in Lowery's last year?

Yeah Hinson took over a much more dire situation after Lowery's destruction of the program.  I actually think Hinson did a good job in his first two seasons all things considered.  They made it to Saturday in St. Louis his 2nd season.

The year Hinson's worst KenPom season though was a huge disappointment and disaster though.  The program had all kinds of momentum and then everything fell apart.

Well hopefully that’s not what’s happening here. Anyone who isn’t at least a little concerned is simply lying to themselves.

He didn’t. Barry Hinson took over a FAR worse team than Mullins. FAR worse. Mullins had far from a barren cupboard. Bryan Took some of Hinson’s recruits and returning players last year and turned it into a solid team. This first crop of transfers he got is not doing the job. Hopefully his recruits will next year.

Teams dealing with Covid shutdowns and injuries all over college hoops, folks. They’re finding ways to grow beyond those roadblocks. They’re not putting asterisks in the media guide next year. It all matters.

I do think if you look around college basketball, the teams with little experience are the teams having a tougher time than normal this season.  Just have to look at Duke and Kentucky.  That being said, as I've said before, I think SIU could have done more with their roster spots this year.  They kept an open scholarship for some reason that could have been used for a contributor.  Eric Butler hasn't gotten any meaningful minutes and Jakolby Long has been injured and unplayable.
