AB Sr. is a very nice man. Given what I know about some things behind the scenes, I would vote no.

Not especially. Just to say that there seemed to be more focus over his future tied to his kids, than there was the present in his role as an assistant/recruiter.
The only coach from Hinson's staff I think could be worth keeping is Clancy. Definite no to the rest. I don't care if that means losing both Darius and Jimmy.
I have full confidence that Mullins will put together a solid staff that will be capable of landing the players necessary to bring the program back to contention. Like others, I do not think it is necessary for the assistant coaches to have ties to SIU.

OK. i don't have any real information/connections and am curious about some of the things that get posted here is all. AB always seemed like a super nice guy in any (very limited) interaction i had with him.
How long does it usually take for a new head coach to announce his staff?
How long does it usually take for a new head coach to announce his staff?
It can vary ... sometimes just a week or two, sometimes longer. Also depends on if they confirm individual hires as guys come onboard or wait to announce the full staff when it's totally wrapped.
But, I'm guessing Mullins had a pretty good preliminary sense of who he wanted the moment he was hired.
For a past timeline on when Hinson announced his staff:
-On 03/28/12 Hinson was officially hired
-On 04/10/12 Terrance McGee was announced as assistant. They also announced Smith, Stewart, and Korn would not be retained
-On 05/18/12 Anthony Beane Sr.’s hiring was announced by the media and the entire staff was officially announced on 05/22/12
I like the thought of Beane Sr. Coming back to secure the Beane's and I'm pretty sure he recruited Chris Payton. But I understand if he wants to start fresh.
And I understand if Mullins wants to start fresh and get his guys too, even if it means losing Darius and Jimmy.
I would like to think we'll recruit over these guys.

I don't doubt this. Darius is gonna be a good player though. He was one of the best players on the court in that Northern Iowa game in St. Louis.
Did someone say the assistant coaches are under contract until April 1? So, I am assuming that it will be after April 1 before we hear any news on Assistant Coaches.

Yes, Kill mentioned April.
I couldn't be more excited for Mullins to be back!
There is an assistant coach at Central Arkansas named Matthew Scherbenskes.(SP) He is ranked 53rd in recruiting in the country by Evan Daniels. He played basketball at Oak Hill and Kentucky. UCA was a 2 win program before he got there. From what I hear from top recruiting insiders, Matt pulled an Oak Hill and Sun Rise kid to UCA last year. They won 18 games.
He would make an excellent second or third assistant on the recruiting trail. I believe he is from midwest too? I hope Mullin goes after this kid.

March madness followed up with April Fools....
