Franklin would definitely add some local fan interest and probably fill some seats. I have heard some good things. Hard nosed, hard worker, willing to do what is necessary to get better, and more athletic than he is given credit for. However, I will gladly leave it to the Mullins and crew to make the tough decisions.

Also played basketball for Mike Mullins’ Illinois Wolves AAU team and plans to walk-on for the Saluki basketball team.
i know i read somewhere, and it was on here i think, that he would not be attending SIU. But hadnt heard anything more about it. Thats why i was asking because that seems like he isnt playing football then either.
I remember now, it was on the scholly grid, 69 had all the changes listed at the bottom, and behind Gibson it said "will not be attending SIU"
Anthony Sayles, the top rated 2021 point guard in Illinois, continues to be a target for SIU. He is a teammate of SIU commit Troy D'Amico at Notre Dame Prep, Niles, IL.

Interesting. I’d never want to turn down quality recruits, but I wonder if an impact transfer might be a higher priority (assuming an extra scholarship or two eventually open up for 2021; they’re currently full), considering they already have commitments from three high school kids and the program should be in win-now mode for the last couple years with Domask and Jones.
It’ll be interesting to see how the roster shakes out between now and what should be a couple exciting years in 2021 and 2022.
Hold that 2020 scholarship for this guy: Bryce Hopkins, 6'7 PF Fenwick HS, 32# in ESPN top 100, de-committed from Louisville. Followed on twitter by Foster Wonders, Troy D'amico, coaches Mamon, Bryan and Brendan Mullins.
