Hold that 2020 scholarship for this guy: Bryce Hopkins, 6'7 PF Fenwick HS, 32# in ESPN top 100, de-committed from Louisville. Followed on twitter by Foster Wonders, Troy D'amico, coaches Mamon, Bryan and Brendan Mullins.
If we landed this kid I think this site would have a meltdown. Would be a huge get. We don’t have to save the 2020 though if we can get a one a done big this year 😁

Seems pretty unlikely but I wonder what the plan is with the last scholarship. Seems weird to just waste it
We don't have to hold it. We can still sign a grad transfer and him, too. Better hurry, though.
Regardless of whether SIU adds another late grad transfer for 2020-21, the Salukis are currently full on scholarships for the 2021 class with the three kids who have committed. Of course, one or more scholarships could open up, and that has very much been the norm around college basketball lately, though I'm hoping SIU has much less roster churn than this last offseason with the group that is currently onboard.
And, if this 2020-21 season is not able to be played due to coronavirus, who knows what kind of roster/scholarship chaos will ensue with seniors likely being granted another year of eligibility, etc.

Let’s hope the NCAA and/or it’s conferences learn from the fall football cancellations and put together a solid plan for basketball. I have no faith, but one can hope

Let's hope our country is in better shape by the time basketball rolls around, I still think there's a huge segment that aren't taking this seriously so I doubt it. Especially with schools opening now.

After backing down his commitment from Louisville, Top-40 prospect Bryce Hopkins has heard from several programs, he told Stockrisers.com.
The list includes South Carolina, Michigan, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Georgia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Northwestern, Providence, he said.
Amother program: Illinois. The hometown school will look to make a major push at him.

That's some pretty tough competition...

We still have an offer out to Anthony Sayles and I think we'll get him. Yes, that would mean someone transfers out. It happens.
Signing day underway and off to a good start:

All three recruits are expected to sign today. With so much uncertainty surrounding everything, this is definitely an accomplishment to appreciate, especially considering the caliber of these players.

March on triumphantly!
