Troy D'Amico and Notre Dame play at 7 tonight. Think there will be a live link here:
Scottie Ebube and Mundelein also play but it's behind a paywall:

At this point we won't know if Troy D'Amico will be able to quickly transition to the speed of the college game, but I have to say, he has really good court vision, makes quick passes and good decisions. The more I see this kid, the more I like what he is going to bring to this team.

I agree, I think he does the little things well like passing, defense. Cons so far is his shooting hasn't been great from what I've seen and he's probably the 3rd best player on this really talented Notre Dame team.
That being said, I trust the experts that had him ranked highly going into this season and trust the coaching staff can get the most out of him.

He seems like an improved version of D'Avanzo IMO and that is current. Give him a few years of college training and he could be a KEY piece of the overall puzzle.
FTR, the Mundelein game is FREE. You have to sign up, but it is free.
Good call. Every time I see Ebube, I'm amazed by how much he towers over everyone.
Ebube looks like a MAN amongst boys, physically speaking in this game. He hasn't even been running down on the offensive end bc the team is so superior to their competition. I saw one play where his teammate got fouled and missed the layup but he was there for what would have been a MONSTER follow up dunk. That is something that Filewich simply cannot provide............off the charts athleticism. That being said Ebube will not provide the offense that Filewich can, at least not initially. Either way, it looks like we'll have a talented 2 headed monster in the future.

I'll take a hard pass on that recruit from FL but Javon? If he could agree to play within the SIU system, this young man has off the charts athleticism, quick hands, offensive ability and a good defender. Yes, PLEASE !!!!!

6'7 Forward from Toronto
Didn't D'Amico win Sun Times Player of the Decade before the high school season start? I believe he is also the highest rated IL recruit we have signed, no? I wouldn't write him off just yet just like I would temper any expectations for future success based on high school results. We've seen 4-star recruits in the Lowery error underperform their rankings, and we have had gems like Darren Brooks who have far exceeded their rankings; you never know how players will adjust to D1 nor do you know just how much they can continue to improve.
Here are my quick observations on the 3 HS recruits based on the film I have seen:
1. Wonders - can shoot, has good size at 6'5" but at this point his defense is non existent. Defensively he reminds me a lot of Ben Harvey. Lacks quickness on the defensive end. Mullins is a huge proponent of defense so don't assume he will get big minutes right away, unless his defense comes around. Wish I saw more AAU film, because his HS competition is not exactly elite. I wonder if he is slated to play the 2 or 3 position. I am optimistic, but his D has a long way to go.
2. D'Amico - has the biggest upside potential in my opinion. Great size for a projected 3 at 6'7" or could play the 4. Can shoot, handle the ball, pass and has some hops. Defense looks much better on film than Wonders. He guards the 3, 4 and 5 in HS. It has been discussed on here that he is in a shooting slump. I would guess that may have to do with covid related stops and starts. On film, he looks most ready to contribute right away. Also, the level of HS and AAU competition he plays is far tougher than Wonders. He is on an elite HS team and that takes away from his overall stats. I see him as a potential point forward in the mold of a Marcus Timmons! Very excited for this kid!
3. Ebube - Great raw recruit. Has good athleticism, can rebound, block shots. Offense is a work in progress. With how quickly Filewich developed this year I have confidence the coaching staff can coach him up offensively. He will never be the scorer, passer, or ball handler Filewich will be, but can be a better rebounder, shot blocker, and defender. Completely different skill set than Filewich, which is a very good thing for 2 young centers. I would expect his playing time to be very limited next year, especially if Muila comes back well from his injury.
Disclaimer - This is based on film and reading articles, so I don't claim to be an expert on these recruits by any stretch of the imagination.
