@salukis60

Do you know which of these players are Grad Transfers?  Those are the ones I'd be looking at.  Also, how do you know we have offers out to certain players?  I would be very leery of that.

The only offers I know of are the two JUCO guards: Terry Roberts and Curtis Jones. Here is the list of Grad transfers that I know of; I eliminated any players that committed to another school or who withdrew from the transfer portal:

  1. Ayo Akinwole 6’0 PG Grad transfer Omaha
  2. Zeke Alley 6’0 PG Grad transfer Northwest Nazarene (D2)
  3. Brandon Carroll 6’7 G/F Grad transfer Southern Florida (D2)
  4. Tamenang Choh 6’5 SF Grad transfer Brown
  5. Broc Finstuen 6’4 G Grad transfer Pacific
  6. Everett Hammond 6’3 G Grad transfer USC Upstate
  7. Marvin Johnson 6’6 PG Grad transfer Eastern Illinois
  8. Eysan Wiley 6’5 G Grad transfer William Jewell (D2)

Great to see him working hard. I am very bullish on this recruit. He has a skill set we do not currently have. Inside/outside game with some nice athleticism. I really think he can be a point forward in the Marcus Timmons mold. For those of you old enough to remember Marcus Timmons.

Agreed about him being a bit of a point forward.  He looked really skilled to me in terms of passing and rebounding.

I’m not sure he’ll make an immediate impact and he’s going to be a project for the staff.  I didn’t follow him before his Senior year but his scoring seemed to take a step back last year compared to what was said about him going into the year and he seemed to take a step back to Lesmond and Sayles.  I still think the skills are there though if he’s developed.

I'm not sure he is much of a project. His down shooting this year may be an aberration. It appears he was a very unselfish player with talented teammates in high school. If he learns the system I think he can contribute right away. He appears to play good defense and that goes a log way with coach Mullins and his staff.

Marvin Johnson didn’t list us in his top 4 (Drake is on that list though), so unless there is a serious coup you can cross him off as well. He would have been a good get.

Pretty sure I've seen Finstuen and Wiley also list finalists that are not SIU, so a couple more to cross off. Don't think either of them are big losses.

Glad to see D'Amico prioritizing his explosiveness, and that reminds me of the nifty tip-in at the buzzer he had in a game this season.

D'Avanzo (his fellow Niles Notre Dame product) returning for the extra year might have as much impact on D'Amico's playing time as anyone, but if D'Amico can defend and bring some athleticism to the table, maybe he can find some minutes at the 3 and 4 spots as a freshman.

Would have been nice to have another Ayo in Illinois but he’s off to Drake

@resaluki-88

I watched a majority of Troy's games this season.

At this point I'm 50/50 on whether or not he will have a meaningful impact his freshmen season or be more of a role player.  What I am confident in is that he has excellent court vision and passing skills.  He is not, however, a good outside shooter.  The defensive capabilities are the one thing that I cannot figure out.  I  have read that he will be a competent defender, which as we know is critical in the Mullins scheme but at the same time I couldn't tell from the game film if he defense would be a strength or a liability.

Was a 3 star recruit that started at UNLV for 2 years before transferring to Little Rock.  Would be a Senior on his last year so would save the scholarship for 2022.
