I watched one coach Nagy‘s interviews but that’s about it. Is there a source or interview that specifically states he was attempting to recruit Ferguson and/or ebube back. Or anyone else specifically? I know there was a bland statement about retaining players initially but I’d just like a legit source that these guys were heavily recruited to return or if there are just certain people that assume the staff was desperate to have studs like Ferguson return? Not trying to stir up anything I just must have missed the link/source so before I offer input I’d like to have that information rather than just look dumb.
What was the nil offer siu had for ebube and Ferguson for instance?
@saluki-4-life Jerry Reinsdorf says the team he most likes are 2 place teams to middle of the pack. Because they fool people into thinking they have a shot but keep them in a position where he doesn’t have to spend much money.
id hope siu fans don’t think just being stable but not good enough to compete’ is a goal
2 things.
1) this isn’t pro sports, it’s not the same. Plenty of owners do feel that way in pro sports and I actually agree. You get higher picks, easier schedules etc… when you’re bad, so being in the middle with no hope of winning a championship sucks. We aren’t going to get anything except more apathy from finishing 10th-12th this year.
2) we were retaining players and that stability was going to lead to championships. The current roster is an absolute disaster. Freshman that won’t help us win anything meaningful and if they’re any good at all will be playing for someone different next year anyway.
i get your point, but it’s not the same.
Lordy, are you back at it again?
Imagine if Dunkledog and Saluki 4 Life are just the same bipolar person lol
I heard both were Mulliins' grandma.
Trey Miller is back in the portal!
There are some nice players on this list. If coach can land 2 or 3 of these guys, lookout!!, might just have something.
Kennard Davis remains a Saluki! Rejoice! Humanity prevails!
I'm bumping this thread. Appleknocker has been updating the roster on Page 1, but here's where we stand (listed by Height). We're young, but we're tall!

Kennard Davis 6' 6" So
Davion Sykes 6' 6" Jr

I posted some thoughts on Sykes in the other thread but I'll say this here. My bold prediction is that HE is the sleeper of the current recruiting class and makes Valley newcomer team.
Honestly, I feel like top half of the valley next year is legitimately possible (though probably not likely) whereas shortly after we fired Mullins I figured we'd struggle not to finish last.
Still a little irked about Mullins getting fired on a personal level, but I'll get over it probably.
@invisiblesaluki I hope your able to jump on the Nagy train. He’s revitalized a team and fan base in his first two months. Inspired donors and the school to put huge amounts of nil money up. He’s showing why we hired him
