Now that Saluki basketball has a chance to be interesting again, the subpar coverage from the Southern Illinoisan is going to be annoying. This April, for example, is a pretty big month with the new coaching staff being assembled, plenty of player movement/scholarships to fill, etc. And we get crickets. I'm sure some of the recruiting analysts/social media sites will have to be the main source of updates to help fill the vacuum.
Has anyone heard of any conversations between the Mullins and the fb recruit Avery Taggert who previously stated that he wanted to play basketball too? I know nothing about this kid, so I'm not saying that he is even good enough to play in the MVC. It's just the bb team needs numbers. Just askin'.

Barry left the cupboard bare. It will take awhile to fix. Still won't surprise me if Bryan and staff manage to fill out the roster with some quality guys....however its defintely not a short term project.

I would like to see them go after Malachi Smith from Belleville. Was a good player for Wright State and was a quality guard in HS winning a state title alongside EJ Liddell at West. Also played with Mizzou guard Javon Pickett-Smith at Belleville East.

But yes. Next year will be brutal. It’s why the tournament or bust was awful. Even if they made it last year this year was going to be awful.
I mean I am not throwing in the towel yet. If Beane does stay they have a really solid starting back court. who knows about the big man situation though... Yikes. Hopefully some commits start happening.
