Another guard on the radar... John McGriff. He's a three-star PG from Bowie, Maryland. He has a slew of offers. St. Johns offered him today.

Oooofff. Aim high Coach I like it
Barkeep - any update on Harvey or Reeves ? I'm particularly interested in Harvey who I think could accelerate the turn around of this program (noting that he would have to sit out this coming season).

I am very interested to hear about both too. I think Reeves could easily be one of the best freshmen recruits we have had in a very long time. I agree Harvey would be a great addition too.

I don’t do much of the recruiting stuff. I know there is quite a bit of confidence with Reeves right now. That does not mean anything is done.
Harvey is interesting I think the staff did well with him and he liked SIU. Also heard there were some big boys sniffing around. This does not mean any of them offered or if he would take it but the possibility is there.
My favorite line regards to recruiting is - recruiting is fluid (as in expect the unexpected)

3 star out of Wisconsin is visiting this weekend. Have some tough competition in Cincy and Loyola. Brannen recruited him to Northern Kentucky and announced his transfer after Brannen went to Cincy.
Domask was named 2019 Mr. Basketball by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Average 26.1 ppg, 10 rebounds, 5.7 assists. Scored 2,307 points for his high school career.

I would be very concerned about Cincy but I'm not as worried about Loyola, if only bc SIU can offer an immediate position and PT. Isn't this exciting??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t know if much of it goes on but I’m curious how Mullins recruits against Loyola. Has to be an awkward situation for him lol
Bryan isn’t the type that would recruit negatively. I think he’ll be very strong at explaining why SIU is the right fit and showing the player why.

Agreed and, as I alluded to earlier, the availability of significant and immediate playing time will help.

Yep agree with this and agree that Mullins won’t and doesn’t need to recruit negatively. There’s no better coach to sell SIU and the program than Mullins.
If a recruit is concerned about SIU and its rapidly declining enrollment, how do you think Mullins addresses it? Seems like this would be one battle he has to take on when recruiting.
I doubt it comes up at all
