SIU has reached out to Nebraska transfer Brady Heiman

Any hint if anything ever went beyond an initial reach out?

Mullins @ Belleville West today to visit PG Lawrence Brazil. Pass first PG and a good defender. Sound familiar?

This kid has a lot of potential. Would be a good get and likely redshirt candidate as we rebuild/class balance.

March on triumphantly!

Did a Twitter search and there’s not much news on him at all other than interest from Nebraska-Omaha.  Wonder if he wants to stay close to home.

I'm assuming there are three open scholarships left, after already signing five guys this spring. It's a tall order to keep bringing in impact players at this stage. Hopefully they have a rabbit or two left to pull out of the hat to help make year one more competitive (a 6-6 or above player who can rebound and defend would be great), but under the circumstances, I'd be totally cool with leaving one scholarship open, either for a mid-year transfer option or to roll over to the 2020 class.

Bottom line: the staff has done excellent work this spring, but asking them to fill eight schollies with quality guys in the spring, after only taking over in March, is asking a helluva lot.

The exciting thing is we still impact players still considering SIU at this point !!  These guys aren’t low hanging fruit like past years. 🤩

Great article from the state tournament championship game. Amazing unselfishness.

From Mayfield, Kentucky.  I believe he visited SIU during his high school recruiting.  3 star recruit out of high school.  He had 15 D-1 offers including SIU.   Holds the Kentucky high school state record for career blocks (190) and single game blocks (16).

Vogt would be a nice get.  He has 2 years of eligibility left so that helps with class balance and he wouldn't have to sit out right away because his coach went to Cincy.
