Former 3 star from Wake Forest just transferred to Western Illinois. Both WIU and UIC have had pretty damn good recruiting years with new head coaches:

All due respect to Lance Irvin, but it looks like Saluki hoops had the wrong Irvin as an assistant coach.
Agreed that UIC and Western (which has long been a basketball wasteland) made strong hires. Very competitive recruiting landscape around the state these days.
The last time the Dawgs had a Tatum on the roster it worked out pretty good!
Just saw Donte Tatum entered the Transfer Portal from Samford. Grad Transfer with one year to play. He is a Combo Guard. NJCAA All American. Lots of good comments on his Twitter feed.

Any chance Lance Jones and Nojel Eastern are friends. Now that would be a good get!

They played together in HS
He didn't get admitted to Michigan because the Skunks were only going to accept 48 of his 90 credits.
Purdue credits weren't good enough for the Maize and Poo!! 🤡

I hope SIU goes hard after him. I think that would make us a real contender next year. We’ve got some talented guards...just not a huge front court presence. He would be a really good stretch 4 for us.
@saluki82 he's not a stretch anything! He is a terrible shooter but an amazing defensive player. I would've to have him!!

Juwuan Howard and Matt Painter are trashing him on social media.
Only a few days from July and still only 10 scholarship players who will be eligible to play this year and two open rides. In normal times this would be a pretty glaring cause for concern, but the disruptions to recruiting and questions about the season itself have probably lessened the angst on here.
Even in a normal offseason, it was always going to be a challenge to fill out the roster with the flurry of outgoing defections, but hopefully something good still materializes to shore up depth for next season.
Really surprised Karrington Davis transferred out and ended up at a JUCO. He clearly just wanted out, because in the scheme of things he would have been much better off investing another year at SIU. I think he had upside, while most likely continuing to push past remnants of his injury. Bummer!
I think lack of playing time and the uncertainty/consistency of the amount of it being available to him going forward was the deciding factor. Coming off an injury like his, he clearly thinks landing at a program where plenty of PT will be readily available will be the best thing for his post-injury basketball career going forward. Hard to argue with that logic. I wish him luck.
--Insert something witty here--
Maybe after a year in juco getting his game and confidence back maybe he will give us a second chance
A 6'8" Rim Protector has just entered the Portal as a Grad-Transfer from Manhattan. As a Sophomore, Pauley Paulicap was the MAAC Defensive Player of the year for the 2017-2018 Season.
